The AR is a classic among Ibanez guitars. It was one of the first original designs produced by Ibanez and continues to be a highly sought after guitar. The AR series continue that legacy with pride.

Crafted with a beautiful Flamed Maple top and a Mahogany body, this guitar delivers well-balanced golden age tones while the Abalone binding caters to the AR420's elegant appearance. The AR420 features a 3-piece slim Maple neck with a 22 (Medium) fret Rosewood fingerboard & ultra smooth heel which provides you with the maximum comfort and facilitates effortless playability anywhere on the neck. To further contribute to the AR420's classy looks, the fretboard also features Pearl and Abalone Block inlays.

The AR420 comes equipped with dual moderate output Super 58 Custom bridge and neck pickups that deliver warm, buttery tones with great articulation and a quick response. Because these pickups are so incredibly versatile, they're capable of achieving excellent vintage tones anywhere from a shimmering clean all the way to dirty, over-driven hard rock or blues. Switch between the bridge and the neck pickups or combine them with the on board 3-way toggle switch, then tailor your tone with each pickups designated tone and volume controls. The Non slip Sure grip III knobs support accurate volume & tone control. The AR420 also houses a Tri-sound switch for each pickup that enables you to select parallel & coil-tap wiring configuration for an extensive tonal variety.

To top it all off, the AR420 boasts all gold hardware including an ART-1 Bridge and a Quik Change Classic Tailpiece to keep your guitar perfectly in tune and to simplify intonation and action adjustments. Case not included.

Comments about Ibanez AR420 Electric Guitar:

This guitar can stand up to any other guitar that costs three or four times as much. I was looking at the AR 620 but went with this, not because of the cost but I wanted something less flashy. The neck is perfect, not too thin, not too fat. The frets are perfect for my smaller sized hands. Looks great, plays great. It is better than any Les Paul I have every played. I once played a magical Fender Strat, the one that everyone seems to be searching for, I have been looking for that magic ever since and have gone through a number of strats, PRS, etc... My search is over. This one had that magic feeling. I had $$$ in my pocket to get spend much more but went with this one for the feel, the sound and the looks. This had it all. The store only had one in stock and I got it. It was a steal...
