Artcore players represent a wide range of musical genres, but the Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AFJ957 Hollowbody Electric Guitar is dedicated to the jazz guitarist seeking to break new sonic ground with the addition of a 7th string. It features a spruce top and flamed maple back & sides for pure Jazz tone. This model has dual Artcore Custom-7 pickups to deliver the full range of tones and overtones that 7 strings can produce. The 20-fret fretboard produces that authentically warm jazz tone and to top it off: the AFJ957 comes equipped with high-quality flatwound strings.

Comments about Ibanez AFJ957 Artcore Expressionist 7-String Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

I just love this guitar. It has a thick, dark tone and plays beautifully. Having the extra string, which I tune to low B, increases the harmonic range so much that it makes it a great guitar for solo work or backing a vocalist. Because the neck is thicker due to the 7th string, it's also a lot more solid which gives it the feel of a much more expensive jazz guitar. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone interested in 7 string playing. I have a couple of Ibanez guitars and I'm not sure how they build such quality guitars for the price. I think they're much nicer than Gibsons costing 3 or 4 times as much.
