The Ibanez AC240 Acoustic Guitar features all-mahogany construction and classic traditional style with warm mellow tone. Order yours from Sam Ash Direct today for the guaranteed lowest price.

The Ibanez AC240 Acoustic Guitar is a perfect guitar for students and performing artists alike. The lush tones originate from a solid Mahogany top paired with mahogany back and sides and a Dovetail Neck Joint at the 14th fret to maximize resonance and produce a warm tone. The Grand Concert body is paired with a wider, 44.5mm neck and shorter 24.9" scale length. The slightly shorter scale facilitates easier playability. The mellow, warm tone that emanates from the all-mahogany construction make the Ibanez AC240 Acoustic Guitar perfect for blues and finger-picking. The thin profile mahogany neck will feel comfortable in your hand and you will love the easy playability. The neck also features 20 frets with pearloid dot inlays on a rosewood fingerboard, and a distinctively contoured rosewood bridge which will stabilize intonation. A set of chrome Grover tuners give you better tuning stability. Case not included.

The Ibanez AC240 Acoustic Guitar is a perfect choice for players who are looking for a versatile, beautiful instrument at a price that is easily within reach. Comments about Ibanez AC240 Acoustic Guitar:

Many of us musicians like shiny things. One thing you'll notice about this guitar is that it is not shiny, it has Ibanez's Open Pore finish. This finish is very thin though quite strong, which further adds to the resonance and clarity of the solid mahogany top. You can still feel the wood grain on this model.

I personally find way too many guitars with overly thick finishes and this is a hard thing to tell just at a glance. Satin as well as glossy finishes can be put on thick. Why is this important? In sum, your guitar with a super thick shiny coat may look beautiful in 10 20 years, but it will never sound as good as a thinner finished guitar. To quote Milburn Guitars "in the early 1950's…many small shops converted to mass production techniques to supply consumers with affordable instruments. Since the guitar's finish is one of the most time consuming steps in the construction of the guitar, many age old finishing techniques were discarded in favor of finishes that were faster to apply." In my opinion, we got hooked on the shiny and the durability and we were playing electric so much, we were not paying attention to our unplugged tone.

You will find a lot of Taylors and Martins with thinner satin finishes and I am convinced this is part of why they sound good. Playing this Ibanez with my eyes closed, and switching to a Martin, Taylor, and a Breedlove that were handy, really impresses. For a few hundred less, it really sounds as nice. Ibanez's website notes that the Artwood series is an attempt to reach back to old techniques but with modern technology. I think they nailed it.

Comfort, intonation, and tuners are all great. I adjusted the truss rod giving it electric guitar action after purchase with no fret buzz.
