The LH500 Bass Amplifier Head is a light-weight, simplistic, road-worthy powerhouse that will add a variety of incredible tones to your live bass rig.

The LH500, like its big brother, features a classic 12AX7 Class-A tube preamp that provides bass players with an 500 watts of power and amazing tone. The LH500 features Treble and Bass Shelving as well as mid peak controls which will allow you to produce a broad range of tonal colors to the amps natural, warm tone. If your looking to shape your sound even further, the LH500 also features Brite and Limiter switches.

Today’s amplifiers seem to all be about one thing, control. So much so that they’ve almost become too complicated to use and aren’t quite user friendly. The LH500 on the other hand doesn’t necessitate an engineering degree to adjust your tone. The simplistic and intuitive front panel of the LH500 gives you all of the range and dynamics of more complicated amps but without the headache. Although the LH500 is a perfect complement to the Hartke HyDrive cabinets, it also works as a seamless accompaniment to any bass cab on the market.

Whether your playing small venues or huge stadiums, the power that the LH500 puts out makes this amplifier head ideal for the gigging musician. The LH500 features a light-weight, rugged construction as well as two-rackspace, metal frame chassis,  a steel faceplate and handles which make this amp extremely road-worthy.

The LH500's raw, reliable power is also perfect for additional shaping through your effects console or stomp box. With all the necessary features for complete tonal control, along with ample power and rugged design, the LH500 will ensure your bass playing receives the positive attention it deserves.

Comments about Hartke LH500 Bass Amplifier Head:

The LH500 is no doubt a very good product. I am playing this amp through an old school 1x15'' Peavey cab with no horn. I gotta say, the highs are as bright as a high beam head light in your face. There is plenty of headroom to find the right amount of high end as well as low end. The "mid" knob is more like a less harsh "highs" knob. The effects loop is the best feature on the amp. You can wire up your own EQ or effects to get a more custom sound. The amp is not powerful enough to run next to a full stack Marshall , but its strong enough for small shows requiring lower stage volumes. Good old bar gig amp!!

Comments about Hartke LH500 Bass Amplifier Head:

If you're on the fence about buying this amp, go for it... You will not be dissapointed. I bought this amp as the combo with the hydrive speakers (410). This amp BUMPS. Playing it in the store simply doesn't do it justice, in a full band is where this baby really shines. High ends are really crisp, perfect for some funky slapping, lows are nice and fat which is all due do the tube inside. The mechanics are a sinch which is what I always wanted in an amp; three simple EQ knobs for your lows, mids and highs. Hartke really did it right with this amp, well worth the money!

Comments about Hartke LH500 Bass Amplifier Head:

The LH500 is the epitome, in my opinion, of the perfect sounding modern bass amp. It has a clean, gooey, warm, fat crisp sound that is easily sculpted with the efficient and concise 3 equalization knobs and 2 switches. The preamp is set at a perfect ever-so-slight gain that is still very clear, while the limiter switch can give a little more growl at higher volumes. If you are searching for high gain amp, I would look elsewhere. The punch/headroom and crisp presence that the Brite switch offers are immediately noticeable, and that Hartke punch is unsurpassed. (I noticed they were both better on the LH500 after immediately switching from an SWR 350X.) It has plenty of power for most standard applications, or you can move up to the LH1000 if you need more juice. There are also 2 quiet fans inside the unit to keep it cool, plus a removable dust filter on the front. The bass is low and gooey, but never muddy or overly boomy. The unit is 25 lbs, which I actually like since it shows it is well built, and it has a thick all-steel chasis plus is rack-mountable. I was somewhat disappointed by older Hartke gear, but this is a whole new sound to the Hartke name. And played through the new HyDrive cabinets, it sounds like heaven. This is a great bass amp, and I would endorse it to anyone looking for a great modern bass sound.
