With the Hartke HyDrive 112C, you get the best of both worlds: the warm tone of traditional paper cones and the clear, punchy attack of aluminum.

Hartke's made revolutionary innovations in the bass amplification industry with the HyDrive series of combo amps and speaker cabinets. The HyDrive series utilizes patented Hybrid Cone Technology which employs an outer paper cone to produce a deep, juicy low-end in conjunction with an inner aluminum cone which will give your mids and highs a nice punch while still remaining sweet.

The power-to-weight ratio is one of the most substantial advancements of the HyDrive speakers. The weight of the HyDrive speaker is 40% less then your typical speaker and puts out 250 watts for the maximal power-to-weight ratio compared to any bass speaker on the market.

The innovation continues even further. The HyDrive speakers, due to their cast aluminum frame and neodymium magnets, are capable of delivering more reliable power handling at peak performance and allow for cooler operation.

Tested and approved by Hartke artist Stu Hamm, a consummate performer in every genre, the HyDrive 112C bass combo amp gives players all the power, versatility and features they need, now in a light-weight package.

The HyDrive 112C delivers 250 watts of pure power to one 12 inch, 300 watt HyDrive neodymium hybrid cone driver. The massive toroidial transformer and internal protection circuitry features of the power supply assist in the protection of both the speaker as well as the amplifier itself. This enables this amp to handle virtually any passive or active bass with enough power to hang with your guitar player's stack.

The HyDrive 112C also features a high-quality 7-band graphic EQ with Bass and Treble shelving to give you total control of your sound as well as an extensive range of tones. Expand your tone even further by dialing in a creamy distortion with the on-board Bass Attack Overdrive and gain much more tonal control with the world-famous Hartke Shape EQ. The versatile HyDrive 112C can be used for a wide variety of music genres.

The highest quality plywood is used to construct the HyDrive combo cabinets, which have the same extensive bracing and dado joinery found in the large HyDrive cabs. Vinyl covering, steel grill and steel corners provide added protection while moving the amp from gig to gig. And of course, the HyDrive 112c combo features the original Kickback design, allowing you to better project your sound while on stage. The result is an aesthetically modern combo with elegantly classic undertones.

With revolutionary speaker technology and all the capabilities to sculpt your tone for any variety of playing styles, the HyDrive 112C exhibits power and versatility like no other combo on the market.

Comments about Hartke HyDrive 112C Bass Combo Amplifier:

Best 12" combo i have ever used...

i have owned and use Roland, Line 6, SWR, Gallien Krueger and a few others...

the harmonics and bright are combined with a level knob so you can dial in how much mix you want with one or both: which i love, especially with funk and blues bass... it also has the 7 band EQ which you can get unlimited tonal aspects...

ALSO.. jamming my 7 string drop tuned guitar across this is beyound PHENOMINAL... you really need a great 12" bass amp for this because a regular guitar amp wont handle drop tune.. A, D, G, C, F, A, D.. this is 7 string drop STANDARD tuning for the guitar... it is 1 octave lower than standard tune which is B,E,A,D,G,B,E...

it is a little on the heavy side but the sound, quality and shear poweralong with control functions are worth every penny

Comments about Hartke HyDrive 112C Bass Combo Amplifier:

I've been playing bass for a few years now. This was my first time spending a decent chunk of change on an amp. I have had the same issues as the first reviewer. It has a deceptively good quality sound at very low volumes; however, once you turn it up, the muffling sound becomes increasingly unbearable. I have taken this in for several repairs at a local store, only to keep running into the same problem.

Comments about Hartke HyDrive 112C Bass Combo Amplifier:

This amp can provide outstanding tones, even with a mediocore bass. It has great high ends, but lacks a little bit on the lows. I'd stay it stil does the job at its price though. If I played this amp without knowing the price I'd assume it was atleast a $750-800 amp. This amp gets me through indoor gigs, and the hydrive is the best, and only combo I'd go with under Hartke.

Comments about Hartke HyDrive 112C Bass Combo Amplifier:

The sound that comes out of this thing is amazing. You have total tone control and it comes with a card giving you example settings. This is the perfect combo for practicing, finding your "sound", playing small gigs, etc. For larger gigs or with band members that push the limits, you may want something bigger but for what it is, you'll love it. I have mine paired with a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass and from Slap to Metal I can find lots of sounds I like. No need to play it past 5 or 6 on the volume knob.

i played this at a few live gigs and this amp doesnt get up to 250 clean watts at all. it sounds great at a low tone but it starts heating up after playing it around 5 for only about a half hour. The amp sound also gets very distorted and it sounds terrible when the volume is over 5. its a good starter amp to practice at home with but terrible for any live gigs.
