Comments about Hal Leonard Happy Traum Teaches Seven Classic Bob Dylan Songs (DVD):

Happy Traum is not only a wonderful guitarist, but he is a gifted teacher. Although this DVD set is not for the beginner (first, get Happy's Beginning Fingerpicking DVDs to start from Homespun!), the intermediate to advanced player will benefit from the easy to follow, duel camera quality, as well as Happy's ability to teach. Happy is unashamedly a fan of Dylan's music, so there is the absence of ego/jealousy, etc that sometimes comes from contemporaries when they work on each others' songs.

For the intermediate player, it is like having hundreds of dollars of private lessons with a master, who's onscreen persona is like a family friend who comes over to teach you a thing or two, who just happens to be a magician with fingerpicking.

I have loved Dylan since I was only 13 years old, more than 3 decades later, I still love him. My only complaint with Homespun is if they decide NOT to do more of Dylan's songs! Happy is my "personal instructor" via DVD and I would recommend this to anyone; along with just about everything else Homespun has put together! I also recommend "The Songs of John Denver Volumes 1-3" as well as "Jim Croce" and "John Sebastian". Homespun is the premier music instruction company and this 2 DVD set on Dylan will show anyone why.
