You are looking at a Music Man Ball Family Reserve BFR John Petrucci Signature Electric Guitar Cherry Burst, serial number G56867. This is the actual guitar you will receive should you decide to purchase. (7 lbs, 11.8 oz. )

Previously reserved for family and loyal Music Man artists, the Ball Family Reserve guitars are offered in limited runs in commemoration the Music Man heritage of fine instrument craftsmanship by employing only the finest of tone woods and finishes available. The Music Man BFR John Petrucci Signature Electric Guitar is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Fit for the legend himself, John Petrucci, the Music Man Ball Family Reserve John Petrucci Signature serves up Petrucci-approved tone, impressive style and unmatched playability. The comfortably contoured alder body of the BFR John Petrucci lays beneath a beautifully bookmatched quilt maple top and features a mahogany tone block which gives this guitar more of a midrange presence. The exceptional tone of the BFR John Petrucci is matched by the stunning Cherry Burst finish. Featuring a sculpted neck joint, the Ball Family Reserve John Petrucci provides smooth accessibility to the higher frets. The mahogany neck is carved into a comfortable profile, measuring 1-11/16” at the nut and 2-1/4” at the last fret, and is finished in a high gloss polyester Cherry Burst finish to match the body. The rosewood fingerboard boasts Custom JP Shields inlays, and is topped off with 24 high profile, wide frets that facilitate effortless string bending and high velocity shredding.

The Music Man Ball Family Reserve John Petrucci comes fully loaded with the perfectly matched pair of DiMarzio pickups and an onboard piezo for an expansive array of tonal possibilities. The DiMarzio LiquiFire neck pickup and Crunch Lab bridge pickup can be heard throughout Dream Theater's “Black Clouds and Silver Linings” album, and according to John, these pickups produce the best studio and live sound he's ever had. The LiquiFire pickup delivers smooth, warm trebles with a brighter and tighter low-end for fluent, singing solo tone when used in conjunction with an amp that's heavily overdriven and a clear chord sound with a clean amp setting. The Crunch Lab will dish out a big, tight crunch that's neither thin nor muddy. The piezo can instantly take the BFR John Petrucci from scorching hot tones to a beautiful, open acoustic sound. The Ball Family Reserve John Petrucci employs dual 3-way switches: one 3-way toggle that enables you to switch between or combine the magnetic and piezo pickup modes and another 3-way toggle to switch between or combine the two magnetic pickups. Rounding out the electronics are mix, treble and bass controls for adjusting the tone of the piezo pickup (on the back of the guitar), two volume controls (one for the magnetic pickup, another for the piezo), a single tone control for the magnetic pickup and dual output jacks (magnetic/stereo output and piezo/mono output).

The headstock of the BFR John Petrucci is finished in Cherry Burst to match the body and comes equipped with a set of high-quality Schaller M6-IND locking tuners with pearl buttons. On the other end of the Ball Family Reserve John Petrucci lays a chrome plated, Custom John Petrucci piezo floating tremolo with solid steel saddles for impeccable tuning stability. The Music Man Ball Family Reserve John Petrucci Electric Guitar comes with the full protection of a hardshell case.
