You are looking at a Gibson Rusty Anderson ES-335 Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar, serial number RA 074. This is the actual guitar you will receive should you decide to purchase. (8 lbs, 2.7 oz.)

Rusty Anderson's father gave him his first electric guitar at age 8, and little did he know that this gift to his son would have a great impact on music later on. Anderson showed a lot of promise from the formation his first rock band at age 14, Eulogy, which performed with bands such as The Police, Van Halen and The Ramones, and later got to tour with Sir Paul McCartney, an incredible honor for Anderson considering The Beatles were one of Anderson's main musical influences. Not only was Anderson a talented guitarist, but he also widely known for his singing/song writing, and was the go-to studio guitarist delivering his renowned riffs for artists/bands including Elton John, Santana, Stevie Nicks, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson and even Ricky Martin (how can we ever forget Anderson's notable surf rock riff featured in Martin's top charted hit, Livin' La Vida Loca). While promoting his own solo albums Anderson performed with many other popular artists/bands such as Steven Tyler, Meatloaf, Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, Regina Spektor, Nelly Furtado and Dido, just to name a few, and he's even written and produced songs that wound up being used in prime time television shows. And throughout Rusty Anderson's extensive and ongoing musical expedition, he remains devoted to the Gibson name, and especially loyal to the ES-335 model.

Gibson pays tribute to a multi-talented, renowned musicians with the Rusty Anderson ES-335 signature model. Through immense and meticulous studying of a well-preserved example of '59 ES-335, Gibson was able to faithfully reproduce Rusty Anderson's legendary blonde 1958-'59 ES-335. Their commitment to recreating this historic instrument becomes quite evident when you look closely at the most minute details of this ES-335, from the shape of the neck, to the contours of the body and everything in between. Incorporating aspects of the highly sought after vintage 335's that gave this acclaimed semi-hollow body guitar it's incredible popularity over the years, and made this the choice guitar of Rusty Anderson--  it's sweet vintage looks and tone paired with its incomparable playability and musical versatility.

The Rusty Anderson remains true Gibson's traditional ES-335 design, with a solid, lightweight spruce maple centerblock within a laminated maple body as well as their use of spruce braces and cedar rim liners. The body is cloaked in a vintage natural nitrocellulose finish that's undergone Gibson's proprietary VOS finishing process to give this Rusty Anderson ES-335 a slightly aged appearance. The solid quarter-sawn mahogany neck is carved into a rounded '59 profile and is topped off with a fingerboard crafted from hand-selected dark rosewood, providing you with the all the playability and comfort that the classic 335's were famous for. The fingerboard features a nylon nut, the same nut material used during this era, as well as vintage-correct binding and simplistic dot position inlays. This guitar possesses the true tone, feel and looks of its esteemed predecessors that were made over a half a century ago.

The Rusty Anderson ES-335 comes fully loaded with two Custom Bucker pickups, that were designed with the specs and tone of the original PAF humbuckers in mind. These pickups utilize genuine Alnico II and Alnico V magnets and slightly mismatched, upspotted coils scatter-wound with 42 AWG wire, dishing out an expansive range of vintage tones, from a raspy warmth to a sweet, singing overdrive. As you may know, Rusty Anderson needed a guitar capable of satisfying all of his musical needs with one guitar because constantly working on different musical projects and working with different artists calls for a diversified tonal palette. Because of the sonic versatility of these pickups, the ES-335 can be used for a wide variety of genres from jazz, to blues, to rock, to pop, to R&B and many more.

The Rusty Anderson ES-335 boasts hardware that's also been VOS treated which include vintage-style Kluson tuning machines, original “no wire” ABR-1 bridge, and a lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece with old-style long anchor studs-- the gently aged hardware not only caters to the classic vibe of this ES-335 but also provides you with incredbile sustain and resonance.

This Rusty Anderson ES-335 comes fully protected inside of a tan Gibson hardshell case with a charcoal, plush-lined interior. Included inside the case is a Gibson Memphis Certificate of Authenticity for this fine instrument.
