The Yamaha NTX series is designed with the contemporary player in mind - thinner bodies, narrower necks, and cutaway designs provide comfort and playability for guitarists of any genre!

The Yamaha NTX series is designed with the contemporary player in mind - thinner bodies, narrower necks, and cutaway designs provide comfort and playability for guitarists of any genre! The Yamaha NTX acoustic electric guitar is built with a solid spruce top and Nato back, sides and neck.

This guitar is amplified with a built-in Yamaha A.R.T. (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) Pickup/Preamp system, onboard tuner, 3-band EQ and individual volume controls for both pickups, as well as a multilayer damper to absorb excessive vibrations and control feedback. The bracing on the NTX is constructed with nylon string tone in mind, providing warm tones and excellent response.

Comments about Yamaha NTX700 Nylon String Acoustic Electric Guitar:

Tried it out and it had a great amplified tone. Without the amp, the acoustic tone was good, but not very loud. The neck is narrow compared to most nylons, but for anyone not a dedicated classical player, that's probably a good thing. It felt good in your hands and the thinner body is comfortable, though you probably lose acoustic volume because of it. Playability was good, not great, but the action could probably be lowered. All in all, a nice cross-over guitar, and I want one. But I don't recommend this guitar unless you plan to use an amp. The pickups and electronics on this are better than others I've tried.
It also feels to be more sturdily built than other nylons I've tried. Again, the heavier materials probably causes a loss in volume, but probably improves amplfied performance (less feedback).
