The Taylor 114e Acoustic Electric Guitar delivers Taylor quality at a working musician’s price!

The Taylor 114ce is part of the redesigned 100 series of acoustic guitars. The Taylor 114e Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s “X” bracing. The Taylor 114e also features their Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 110 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. The back and sides are constructed from layered sapele, which possesses a similar aesthetic and tone as mahogany. As a tonewood, sapele is denser and harder than mahogany, so it has a slightly brighter sound than its more familiar counterpart. Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well.

When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 114e features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 114ce is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar (Natural):

Taylor has knocked it out of the park with this great affordable acoustic guitar! It plays great like all Taylor guitars and has a crisp tone that really cuts through the mix! The pickup sounds really nice through any acoustic amp. The gig bag is very sturdy and protects the guitar very well.

Taylor is one of the most incredible guitar builders in the world! I cant believe the amount of sound that comes out of this guitar! It sounds great, feels great and looks beautiful. I will put the 114e up against any other guitar in the same price range and I guarantee it will be tough to beat. I'm a staff reviewer at Sam Ash Music.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar (Natural):

Call it an "entry level" if you want, but you'd be selling this guitar short! You will be hard pressed to find a guitar that plays and sounds as good as the Taylor 114E for under a Grand!

The Spruce top and Sapele back and sides give this guitar a big, crisp, clear sound with lots of snap. Strummed chords and single-note runs will cut right through the mix with trademark Taylor clarity every time. The neck on this wonderful instrument is perfectly playable and comfortable. The ES Piezo keeps that Taylor tone intact when plugged in as well, and the independent Bass and Treble controls help you dial it in just right.

Whether you are looking to just dip your toe into the Taylor waters, or looking for that permanent fixture in your music room, you will find more than enough reasons to fall in love with the 114E!

If you're in the market for a first guitar, do yourself a favour and try this Taylor. Cheap acoustics will only frustrate the beginner and end up in the closet. this is a guitar that you won't outgrow either, with Taylor electronics on board, you can easily gig out with this guitar. Solid Spruce top is rare in this price range also!

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar (Natural):

Taylor guitars are always great players, even the 114e. Not as flashy as the higher end models, with a satin finish and a gig bag instead of a case, but it is durable, and has the full, rich Taylor tone that you expect. A great guitar for palying live, taking on the road, or a great practice guitar for newbie or veteran!

The Sitka solid spruce top produces nice warm tones and added sustain compared to laminate tops. When you're ready to plug in, the ES-T electronics do a great job keeping the sound as natural as possible. If you're a finger style player, you can't go wrong with a Taylor!

I am absolutely in LOVE with 114 CE! Being a part of the grand auditorium series, it has a very loud resonance hole, which gives it such a rich, and full sound. The action on it and nice and low and the intonation is practically flawless. The neck feels very natural in my hands. It's perfect to suite any live audience. Also, the price for it is great as well. It's also a great guitar for acoustic soloing.

For the money this is a hard guitar to beat. It plays and sounds great and comes with a nice Taylor gig bag. It is bright and open sounding, and it sounds surprisingly full for having laminate back and sides.. I think it is a great guitar for everything from playing around the house to doing a little weekend gigging.
