Pigtronix Philosopher Bass Compressor brings the heralded Philosopher’s Tone compressor circuit to bassists in a small size stompbox format. The sustain control on this pedal varies the compression threshold to provide everything from subtle peak limiting to infinite clean sustain, all with incredible low end response. The Philosopher Bass Compressor also sports a compression blend knob, mixing clean tone in parallel with the optical compression. This approach is far more effective than a typical compressor’s “attack” control for preserving your natural string envelope to achieve transparent and musical results.

Comments about Pigtronix Philosopher Bass Compressor Pedal:
This is the one of the only pedals I have bought where the hype was all true. I have been playing for 30 years, and this is, without a doubt the best compressor pedal on the market for bass...period. You can control your level of squash, go from subtle note ringing to infinite sustain, mix your direct signal with the level of effected signal. The results are incredible. I did a lot of experimenting with where to put this one in my chain, turns out I like it best as my first pedal in the chain... I go....bass-wireless-tuner-compressor-preamp-chorus-amp...I find that running the squashed signal into my effects gives me the tone I was looking for. After 30 years, Pigtronix helped me find "my tone". 6 stars on this one if I could.
