Comments about DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is a heavy metal distortion so if you bought this pedal for something other than that than I feel sorry for you. I have this pedal on my board and it rocks. The only thing I find my self doing is when I use this pedal is making lots of adjustments to the amp, the pedal, and the guitar except with my Jackson. I have a Strat and when I play it with this pedal I have to make micro adjustment after adjustment to get the sound I like. My Jackson V just flat out kills on metal with this pedal. If you have this pedal, take your time and adjust. Again this is a hardcore metal pedal, not fuzz or light distortion. If heavy metal is what you want this is a solid pedal.

Comments about DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I preface by saying that crazy metal and hardcore aren't my favourite genres. I don't hate them, but I prefer alternative and prog. So maybe it's just me. I got this when I still had my metal band for live shows. It's extreme distortion. But beyond that, the sound quality is just muddy. There's a lot of crazy, out of control feedback that makes you sound like you're having technical difficulties - that BAD AUDITION sound. It's hard to control. You need to mess with the gain control to manage it and you shouldn't have to. I like the 3-band tone shaping, but it doesn't have a gain control and the sound quality is poor. I recommend an Ibanez Smash Box for better tone and control at a comparable price.

Comments about DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I use this pedal at every one of my performances and for practice; the trick is to keep the level low, don't go past halfway and it will keep feedback to a minimum and don't boost every setting like an idiot cause that'll give you terrible tone, i use it with a digitech RP90 processor for a volume pedal, effects ,and i recommend getting a dunlop wah because it compliments the distortion's highs and lows. This pedal ROCKS

Comments about DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is great if you play Black Dahlia Murder, Emmure, DethKlok, and metal like that but if you play like TOOL or SOAD get a different pedal.
It is just not good for chords or any type of clarity.

Comments about DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal rocks my socks clear through from here to Hong Kong and back. It sounds great - but there is a technique to it. My answer to the feed back - If you run it through the preamp of your amplifier, it hums like crazy. solution: run it through the aux return or power amp in of your combo/cab. this does not eliminate the buzz, but it reduces it to almost nonexistent. problem solved. :)

Comments about DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Dont get me wrong this pedel with definatly get you a strong destortion sound worth its name, but it does basicly what most amps can do. The gains high but not that much versitility in tone. The destortion sound is high and your guitar doesnt really cut through, and on lower setings its just buzz. Though if your lookin for a strict metal sound, or want stomp box convience this is for you.

    A little to extreme...

Comments about DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

distortion a little to extreme... Tone is terrible, especially through an amp like a Line 6 Spider. Maybe better through an amp that's tube like a Marshall but I'll never know. I play Children of Bodom and Yngwie and I thought it would be great for shredding (it was recomended) but it causes the notes to fuzz out or run together. Not much clarity either. Only pro is that it's good if you want an earthshattering distortion with a lack of emphasis on tone.
