History was made in 1975 when a mom and pop store in California commissioned the production of just 200 of what is perhaps the best overdrive effect ever. Unlike any other device, that pedal authentically simulated the breakup that occurs when a tube amp is run at full volume. You will occasionally see an original in the stage rig of a major artist. If you could find an original offered for sale, best to sit down before inquiring about the price. Danelectro puts this classic effect in your hands…without damage to your financial portfolio.

Comments about Danelectro D2 Fab Overdrive Pedal:

This pedal doesn't really give give a lot of option on sound. I heard somewhere that the sound was compared to an amp being played through a wall, and that is fairly accurate. With tinkering, though, this thing sounds pretty awesome for how cheap it is. I had to turn the treble up on the amp, use only one particular pickup on the guitar, turn the Over drive on the pedal over the "12 o'clock" mark, and use the tone knob, but it sounds good. This may be somewhat effected by the amp I'm using, though. The pedal also seems pretty sturdy for plastic as long as you don't stomp on the thing. It kills batteries, also, so an adapter is really neccessary, so consider that in the price. Overall, it is an okay pedal that will give you a nice clean to crunch, but if you have the money, there are probably better options out there.
