A pure classic reborn into the 21st century, the EXL-1 Single Cutaway Archtop Hollowbody has been revived with all the quality, tone and looks you've come to expect from D'Angelico.

With only 1164 archtops produced by John D'Angelico, an original D'Angelico instrument has become virtually impossible to come across. Today, D'Angelico Guitars is proud to introduce the EXL-1 archtop. This Standard Series flagship model offers all the traditional D'Angelico style, tone, and superb playability and quality of its predecessor at an exceptional value. The ultimate D'Angelico jazz box, the fully hollow single cutaway body of the EXL-1 is crafted from a laminated spruce top paired with laminated flame maple, which produces a beautiful, resonant tone with amazing balance and clarity. Carved from 2-piece hard maple with a walnut center strip, the ultra-comfortable neck will feel right at home in your fretting hand.

Equipped with a single floating neck pickup, the D'Angelico EXL-1 delivers a gorgeous amplified tone while providing maximum top vibration and string resonance thanks to the floating design. No-nonsense, pickguard-mounted controls consist of a single volume and single tone control.

This classically appointed D'Angelico EXL-1 showcases all gold-plated hardware including a set of gold Grover Super Rotomatic stairstep tuners and a D'Angelico stairstep tailpiece that are complimented by a rosewood bridge. Traditional adornments include a distinctive D'Angelico headstock featuring a mother-of-pearl Excel inlay and an Art Deco truss rod cover, a signature stairstep pickguard and mother-of-pearl square block fingerboard inlays. This finely crafted archtop comes with the full protection of a deluxe hardshell case.
