Comments about Ibanez TK999HT Tube King Distortion Pedal:

I run my SG gothic through a tube king into a 1988 Laney pt-100 head/marshall 1960BV cab. People usually say that these are suited to augmenting solid state heads, and I'm sure they do that wonderfully, but the sound through my 100w tube head can only be described as mean. The distortion is natural sounding, as it should be from a tube pedal, and goes from a overdriven sound on the low end of the dial, to a blown out Japanese crusty hardcore tone on the high end. in between there should be a setting to suit any style of heavy/fast/thrashy/hard guitar playing. really accentuates harmonics, and the guitar's natural tone still shines through the distortion. just take your time playing around with settings.

what is that stupid void control for? even as noise gates go, it is total garbage. good thing you can just switch it off.
