You are looking at a Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Nile Rodgers Tribute "Hitmaker" Stratocaster Electric Guitar, serial number NR2078. This is the actual guitar you will receive should you decide to purchase. (7 lbs, 8.8 oz.)

The Fender Custom Shop is pleased to introduce a remarkable addition to the Artist Series models — the limited edition Nile Rodgers "Hitmaker" Stratocaster — which offers a stunning replica of the well-worn 1960 Stratocaster that can be heard on countless chart-topping hits and found in the hands of the renowned session artist/Chic co-founder.

Whether you know it or not, you have heard the distinct sound of Nile Rodgers and his beloved vintage Stratocaster that he affectionately dubbed the Hitmaker — a fitting nickname for Nile's go-to Stratocaster that shaped the sound of dozens of classic hits. Often with the help of his most prized Stratocaster, Rodgers has sold over 100 million albums throughout his lengthy, ongoing career as a guitarist, producer, composer and arranger, and there is rarely a day that goes by when you don't hear his invaluable musical contributions. Rodgers most legendary contributions include his work with David Bowie (Let’s Dance, 1983), Dianna Ross (Diana, 1980), Debbie Harry (Koo Koo, 1981), Duran Duran (“The Reflex” and “The Wild Boys,” 1984; Notorious, 1986), Madonna (Like a Virgin, 1984), INXS (“Original Sin,” 1983), Robert Plant (The Honeydrippers: Volume One, 1984), Jeff Beck (Flash, 1985), Thompson Twins (Here’s to Future Days, 1985), Mick Jagger (She’s the Boss, 1985), Al Jarreau (L is For Lover, 1986), Steve Winwood (Back in the High Life, 1986), B-52’s (Cosmic Thing, 1989), the Vaughan Brothers (Family Style, 1990), Michael Jackson (“Money,” 1995), and many more. In more recent years, you can hear Nile and his Hitmaker Strat on the 2013 hit albums True by Avicii and Random Access Memories by Daft Punk, including the multi-platinum hit "Get Lucky."

The Fender Custom Shop Hitmaker Stratocaster is faithfully crafted in the image of the 1960 Stratocaster that Rodgers acquired through a trade-in at a small shop located in Miami Beach, Florida. The lightweight alder body is dressed in a well-worn, faded Olympic White nitrocellulose lacquer finish that's been relic'd to capture all the dings, scratches and wear patterns that are present on the original instrument. The one-piece straight-grain maple neck is carved into a custom "C" profile to offer the classic comfort of the 1959 neck featured on the original. The ultra-playable 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard comes loaded with 21 narrow jumbo 6105 frets and black dot inlays. Additionally, the fingerboard and the back of the neck are both worn to provide a well-played in feel.

Holding true to the unique sonic character of the original Hitmaker, which according to Rodgers, "doesn't sound like any other Stratocaster in the world", the Fender Custom Shop Hitmaker Strat comes outfitted with a set of three custom hand-wound Custom Shop 1969 Single-Coil Stratocaster pickups. This modern classic comes equipped with a versatile 5-position pickup selector, and features a master volume control and two tone controls with white "speed" knobs (one for the neck pickup and one for the middle pickup) for on the fly tonal adjustments. For optimal performance paired with authentic looks, the Hitmaker Stratocaster features aged nickel/chrome hardware, including a set of locking Sperzel tuners, a vintage-style non-tremolo hard-tail bridge, a custom neckplate and a chrome-plated brass pickguard. The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Nile Rogers Tribute "Hitmaker" Stratocaster comes delivered inside of a limited edition case. A Fender Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity, guitar strap, instrument cable, picks and a polishing cloth are also included with your purchase.
