A stunning reissue of an original 1959 sunburst D'Angelico: the EX-59 Single Cutaway Archtop Hollowbody Electric Guitar.

Back in the day, master luthier John D'Angelico had built a handful of instruments featuring P-90 pickups. Today, D'Angelico Guitars is proud to reissue a classic example of one of those P-90-equipped D'Angelico archtops with the introduction of the EX-59.

Crafted from gorgeous laminated maple and outfitted with a pair of P-90 pickups, the EX-59 is the perfect choice for players of all kinds. The perfect addition to your smooth jazz or heavy blues rig, the EX-59 offers the renowned warmth you've come to expect from a D'Angelico archtop while giving you that extra twang and edge when you need it. The gracefully faded light cherry sunburst is highlighted by multi-ply top and back binding to cater to the vintage aesthetic, and just as the original, the top carries no pickguard. Carved from 2-piece hard maple with a walnut skunk stripe, the neck features a 25.5" scale length and a rosewood fingerboard. Reminiscent of the classic D'Angelico archtop, the EX-59 boasts the distinctive D'Angelico headstock featuring a mother-of-pearl Excel inlay and Art Deco truss rod cover, mother-of-pearl square block fingerboard inlays, a carved top and back,  and classy gold Grover super Rotomatic Stairstep tuners and a rosewood bridge with the unmistakable D'Angelico Stairstep tailpiece. Rounding out this traditionally appointed package are a chicken-head 3-way rotary switch and '50s retro-vibe volume and tone control knobs. Comes with the full protection of a deluxe hardshell case.
