The Paracho Elite Del Rio Requinto is a notch above other instruments with its solid cedar top, nice sound hole and binding treatments. Case not included.

The requinto guitar is a six-string nylon guitar with a scale length of 530 to 540mm, this is about 18% smaller than a standard guitar scale (650 to 655mm). Many requintos have cutaways. Requintos made in Mexico typically have a deeper body than a standard guitar (110mm as opposed to 105mm). In Mexico, the requinto is typically used in a "trio romantico", which includes the use of two other guitars along with the requinto.

Many of the luthiers that work at the Paracho Elite shop are fourth and fifth generation musical instrument makers. These hand crafted, quality guitars are made from some of the finest woods. Each guitar has it's own unique styling and beautiful inlay craftsmanship. Most importantly, they produce remarkable sound and are played by recording and performing professionals.

Comments about Paracho Elite Del Rio Requinto Guitar:

My requinto has a nice sound and stays in tune. The construction won't win any awards. The back and sides are laminate and but the top is solid cedar. Interior glue-work is sloppy, but there's not much reason to condemn a guitar based on sloppy gluing practices. The finish is lacquer. To PE's credit they put the lacquer on pretty thin. The back binding is painted on. The top binding is real. Attention to symmetry at the heal is poor.

The neck is crudely shaped and the action from the factory is too high. The action problem is easy to correct. The frets are brass and needed polishing to sound good.

I carved the neck down to a slimmer profile - since I have experience building and modifying guitars this does not scare me at all, but reshaping a neck is not a project for an inexperienced woodworker. As a serious player, I consider the neck as it came from the factory unacceptable.

The sound is lots of fun. Having replaced the poor quality tuning machines, adjusted the action and frets and reshaped the neck, I love playing this guitar. While there's not a great deal of athletic finger stretching involved, I've had to make other technical adjustments because these small guitars do require an exacting left hand technique.
