The Taylor 114e Acoustic Electric Guitar delivers Taylor quality at a working musician’s price!

The Taylor 114ce is part of the redesigned 100 series of acoustic guitars. The Taylor 114e Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s “X” bracing. The Taylor 114e also features their Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 110 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. The back and sides are constructed from layered sapele, which possesses a similar aesthetic and tone as mahogany. As a tonewood, sapele is denser and harder than mahogany, so it has a slightly brighter sound than its more familiar counterpart. Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well.

When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 114e features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 114ce is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is great little taylor guitar. Mexican made with American ingenuity. Solid top guitar with great tone and resonance, not too bright and too much low end. And what more can be said about the taylor neck? One of the most comfortable necks out there and great for the intermediate player.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Taylor is a great brand and offers superior build quality. Grand auditorium body helps the guitar sustain tone. Solid Sitka top only adds to the beauty of this guitar. Don't forget this is an electric guitar so having the option to plug this into an amp only makes this guitar more valuable. I'm a Staff reviewer at Sam Ash Music.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Taylors 100 series just gets the job done for a guitar under $600. Great playablity and tone with the spruce body and patented Taylor X bracing design. Classic dreadnought design with a smaller body but big tone. Sapele back and sides which give it a mahogany like tone at a more affordable price point. Whether its your main axe or a backup this thing will cut through the mix and get your point across for sure!

From playability to tone and electronics, this guitar is clean, neat and sweet. I have played several other Taylor guitars in the store and this even sounds better than the $2000.00 guitars I've tried. It is well built and just absolutely sings. It's a Taylor, is there anything else to say?

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

the taylor 114ce is a great affordable acoustic electric out there. This was my first Taylor as all my others are Martins.I needed a good acoustic electric for a few live songs and Found the taylor t114ce the best value and quality. It is a good price and through a pa system in small clubs has a clean and acoustic tone that other brands lack. I would recommend this to any beginner or for anyone on a budget looking for a workhorse. I am a staff reviewer at Sam Ash Music stores.

Taylor has knocked it out of the park with this great affordable acoustic guitar! It plays great like all Taylor guitars and has a crisp tone that really cuts through the mix! The pickup sounds really nice through any acoustic amp. The gig bag is very sturdy and protects the guitar very well.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Call it an "entry level" if you want, but you'd be selling this guitar short! You will be hard pressed to find a guitar that plays and sounds as good as the Taylor 114E for under a Grand!

The Spruce top and Sapele back and sides give this guitar a big, crisp, clear sound with lots of snap. Strummed chords and single-note runs will cut right through the mix with trademark Taylor clarity every time. The neck on this wonderful instrument is perfectly playable and comfortable. The ES Piezo keeps that Taylor tone intact when plugged in as well, and the independent Bass and Treble controls help you dial it in just right.

Whether you are looking to just dip your toe into the Taylor waters, or looking for that permanent fixture in your music room, you will find more than enough reasons to fall in love with the 114E!
