Comments about Gibson J-45 Standard Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you play acoustic guitar and don't have one of these you are doing it wrong. This guitar is perfect in every way for anyone who is a singer songwriter. This guitar rules Nashville. The mahogany back and sides and the spruce top just make a perfect meld of warmth and brightness and the x bracing gives the midrange prominence. The slim style neck that is masterfully dove tail jointed makes playing this guitar a dream come true.

The J-45 is an iconic acoustic guitar. It is one of the most well known guitars for good reason too. The dreadnought body provides a full bodied tone and a lot of volume. The spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides is a balanced combination and sounds great for any musical genre. The instrument is beautified by a classic sunburst finish that is timeless and classy. This is a great American made guitar.

Gibson's J45 is a well-rounded dreadnought guitar. It is especially suitable for singer-songwriters, and a great strumming guitar for all genres and pairs with voices quite well.

I thoroughly enjoy the tone of this guitar, despite the inconsistency of the quality and action that comes out of the Gibson factory. Some J45's are total gems while others need a little work setting up and breaking in. Also, I personally feel that the thicker finish on the guitar might take away from its potential. That being said, the J45 is a historic guitar and still definitely worth the consideration. Play before you buy!

Comments about Gibson J-45 Standard Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar produces a very warm, punchy and articulate sound. Great for all styles of music. Gibson's acoustics sit right in the middle between full/warm and punchy and bright. The LR Brags expression system is fantastic as well. If you are going to own one acoustic that does it all, this could be the one! Gibson produces a very limited amount of guitars out of the Montana factory each week. Each and every guitar is paid extreme attention to. Try one out today, it may be the guitar of your dreams.

Comments about Gibson J-45 Standard Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Its alright. people who praise gibson praise it and nothing else, but a martin will absolutely knock this down. don't believe the hype. i went to a sam ash to try it out and the employees were absolutely harsh. they complained in the inside and they didn't want to even let me hold the guitar. i ordered it online and played it here home and to be honest, its alright. its overpriced, yes, but you mainly for the brand.

when i went to try it out at my local sam ash, they wouldn't even give me a pick for a starter so i basically just ordered it to see what it would be like.
i own a couple of acoustics. a yamaha FGX-04-ltd and a martin 000-15m and they both blow this one out of the water. especially since the martin is less than half the price and the yamaha is only 300 bucks.

now, the guitar has a great action to it. it felt incredibly smooth and it played beautifully. the highs are good and so are the low ends but the mids were a bit scrawny. it plays at a small volume, considering its a smaller sized guitar. but for fingerpicking, this isn't your weapon. for just normal chord strumming without a capo, this is great. using a capo on this guitar is not as great as i'd expect but its nice.

i did return the instrument and instead just bought a martin d-28 marquis.
