Introduced in 1936, the J-35 was Gibson's answer to a call for a quality, handcrafted guitar with unrivaled tone and an incredible price. This Gibson J-35 is the modern equivalent of that original round-shoulder flat-top with Gibson's historically celebrated, full-bodied acoustic tone. Reborn for the same reasons that brought the original to the market, the J-35 is handcrafted with solid tone woods and all the acclaimed skill of Gibson Acoustic’s luthiers of Bozeman, Montana.

The spruce top and mahogany back and sides produce the warm, expressive tone sought after by renowned artists, acoustic connoisseurs, record producers and sound engineers. The short-scale neck with dovetail neck-to-body joint, attached with traditional hot hide glue, provides for smooth tonal response and easy playing. An Antique Natural finish hand-sprayed with Gibson's signature nitrocellulose lacquer preserves the natural grain and lends a clean, modern look, while enhancing the guitar’s resonance. A unique fire stripe pick guard, multi-ply top binding and soundhole rosette, and a Gibson script and banner logo make it easy to distinguish the J-35 in the family of round-shoulder dreadnoughts. Equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element pickup, the J-35 is a go-to favorite for vocal accompaniment on stage or in the studio.

The Gibson J-35 includes a black hardshell case with plush-lined interior, owner's manual, Gibson's Gold Warranty and Gibson's 24/7/365 Customer Service.

  • 100% American-made quality Gibson handcrafted construction throughout

Comments about Gibson J-35 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

AFTER A LIFELONG SEARCH I'VE GOT THE ONE!! THIS GUITAR IS SO FULL WITH GREAT VOLUME AND PROJECTION. LOWS ARE CRISP AND HIGHS ARE SPARKLING. THIS IS THE LOUDEST ACOUSTIC I'VE FOUND AND YOU CAN PLUG IT IN FOR EVEN MORE VOLUME AND IT STILL SOUNDS ACOUSTIC. LOVE IT. I HAVE ELIXIR LIGHT STRINGS. I LOWERED THE SADDLE TO MAKE THE ACTION COMFORTABLE AND STILL NO BUZZING. NICE LOOK OF THE WOOD. JUST AS NICE AS J45. IN FACT I LIKE THE SOUND BETTER. JUST GET IT.

Comments about Gibson J-35 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just got this beautiful guitar as a birthday present.
            (First a small backstory)

I have a 1961 J-50 and she is my dream guitar.....I have had her for over 42 years....nothing ever came close to her......till now!

I have always looked for a guitar to touch me like she does and nothing ever came close - not Taylor, Martin or any other high dollar guitar. I suppose age has a lot to do with it.....till now.

This is the warmest most full sounding instrument I have played besides my 53 year old J-50.

Chris at Sam Ash in Canoga Park deserves a raise...the customer service was second to none....
I have to drive almost 50 miles to get to that store but I willingly will from now on...

I write songs, I need an instrument to draw inspiration from....this J-35 has already done that job a few times and I haven't even had it a week!

I am beyond a happy customer!

            J.K.

Comments about Gibson J-35 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I originally went in to buy a Taylor (also make great guitars) and saw this Gibson for around the same price as the 314CE. The Gibson line was priced out of my range except this one.

The action on the wall was great. Nice short scale and it just played easily.

Not the most exciting looking guitar in the world but well made and still has that fresh smell of wood.

This thing DOES seem to stay in tune well.

The case is pretty awesome as well.

Nice, solid, well playing Gibson for a great price.
