EXP Coated 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings are D’Addario’s brightest sounding coated strings and provide longer life and increased durability. Here is how it works: An ultra-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the 80/20 bronze wrap wire, which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. And since the EXP Coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings retain their natural round wound feel, and keep their "new string tone" three to four times longer than traditional guitar strings. Gauges: .013; .017; .026; .035; .045; .056

Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Medium 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings (13-56):

I play a 1965 Gibson B-25 in an alt-country band. I tried Elixir, GHS, and Martin strings on it and they all sounded dead. I put a set of these on before our last show and was blown away at the difference. Really brought the guitar to life and gave her a bright, responsive tone that cut through the mix well when I used a pick and brought grown men to tears when finger picking.
The tone lasted considerably longer than I expexted it to as well (about a week before I noticed a difference, but I do most of my practicing on other guitars).

Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Medium 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings (13-56):

I recenetly purchased a pair of these strings because I had read reviews on other sites about them as compared to Elixir brand strings. When I first played my guitar with Elixirs on it I was in heaven and truely felt that I was experiencing the next step in guitar strings. When i put the EXP's on my guitar I felt as if I was regressing. They had that same crappy feel and tone I have come to expect from a pack of D'addario strings. The extra $[...] for the Elixir's is money well spent. You pay for what you get.
