The Taylor 214ce Cutaway Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar delivers professional quality and style at an extremely affordable price.

The Taylor 214ce features Taylor's Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 210 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. While the bigger Dreadnought was traditionally considered a flatpicker’s guitar and the smaller Grand Concert catered to fingerstylists, the Grand Auditorium was designed to deliver on both fronts. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the multi-dimensional Grand Auditorium won’t let you down.

The Taylor 214ce boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s “X” bracing. As a Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well. Sitka produces a slightly brighter tone than does Engelmann. The back and sides are crafted from layered Indian rosewood which presents a beautiful aesthetic in a durable, affordable package.

The slim taper neck is carved from Sapele, which is denser and harder than mahogany. You will love the ease and playability of the fast, thin profile of this neck and 20 fret ebony fingerboard. The cutaway body design of the Taylor 214ce allows you to access the upper register notes for when you’re reaching for a little extra in your soloing.

When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 214ce features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 214ce is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 214CE-G Cutaway Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar with Gig Bag:

Taylor Guitars is one of the most amazing and innovative guitar companies in the world! Taylor never skimps on the quality of materials or craftsmanship. Solid spruce top with layered rosewood back and sides. Because of the way Taylor attaches it's necks to it's bodies, you get a consistent, comfortable playability all the way up or down the fingerboard. I'm a staff reviewer at Sam Ash Music.

Comments about Taylor 214CE-G Cutaway Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar with Gig Bag:

The Taylor 214CE boasts all of the great features and sound we have come to know from one of the premier guitar makers in the industry, and can go toe-to-toe with other guitars costing much, much more. The 214CE's Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood Laminate back and sides combine to give you the perfect blend of great tone and durability.

The tone is big, full and rich, with a great balance of clarity and bottom end. Chords sound full and balanced, and the ES-T pickup delivers the same awesome tone plugged in. The cutaway gives you access to the upper frets should you need to let your wild child out, and the neck profile is classic Taylor - comfortable and sleek. Perfect for stage, studio, or for those looking for the all-in-one guitar at a friendly price!

Comments about Taylor 214CE-G Cutaway Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar with Gig Bag:

One of my favorite guitars in this price range. Taylor really speaks to the modern acoustic guitar player, their polished bright sound rings out and cuts better than any other guitar. The layered rosewood back and sides look and sound amazing when coupled with the solid sitka spruce top. Ive always been a huge fan of the expression system simple control scheme, as it isnt all bulky and invasive as most other acoustic preamp systems are.

Comments about Taylor 214CE-G Cutaway Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar with Gig Bag:

This instrument stands out in the Taylor line up as the "one" with the sound & construction quality that can take you to the pro level of performance excellence without breaking your budget. As with all Taylor products in the past, this ES-T pickup delivers brilliant live tone quality. These instrument's brighter character adds to the almost foolproof ability to be engineered very easily into your live mix. The solid Sitka soundboard, rosewood fret board & bridge helps maintain the tone & volume of more expensive models. The laminated rosewood back & sides keep it from "being" one of the more expensive ones. A "must try"!

Comments about Taylor 214CE-G Cutaway Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar with Gig Bag:

Taylor guitars are well known for being consistent, and they give you that same consistent tone with this 214ce. The solid Spruce top allows it to resonate well, while the layered Indian Rosewood allows for durability at an affordable price. The pickup system is Taylor's Expression Transducer, a slimmed-down version of their popular pickup on their higher end models. So you get the Taylor tone, unplugged or acoustic. Also comes with one of the most protective gig bags in the business, with a protective outer shell. It's a great guitar for the player who's upgrading to a guitar for both live playing or recording!

Having tried most of the Taylor line at Sam Ash, this guitar will give you all the quality and tone known of Taylors but at a great price. It's got a very full-bodied tone, nothing tinny or weak sounding in the bottom end or lower-mids range. It has a shimmery high end without a brittle or plastic sound. Like most Taylors, the neck has a nice smooth feel, with a good width for playability. This guitar would be great for flat-picking, fingerstyle, singer-songwriter styles etc.
