You are looking at a Taylor 910e Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar Tobacco Sunburst, serial number 1101174054. This is the actual guitar you will receive should you decide to purchase.

The upper echelon of Taylor's Rosewood models features Taylor’s popular “Cindy” inlay, Indian rosewood binding, red purfling accents, and abalone top trim that also borders the fretboard extension. Among the three classes of rosewood guitars, the fine detailing of the 900 Series sets it apart with exceptional design sophistication. The sleek lines of the Taylor 910e's dreadnought body are accentuated with an Abalone edge trim and are complemented by  910e's other shimmering appointments. Every material used on these guitars is premium quality, from the hand-selected tops to the iridescent pieces of abalone used for the inlay work to the elegant Gotoh tuners. The 900 Series guitars are true Taylor masterworks.

The Taylor 910e boasts two perfectly paired tonewoods to deliver a broad range of tones that can only be described as “ an experience”. The top is crafted from the finest, hand-selected solid Sitka Spruce and is matched with premium quality Indian Rosewood for the 910e's back and sides. Sitka spruce hails from Northwestern North America (Coastal Rainforests of Alaska and Canada). As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor’s personal favorite for an all-around great guitar. Sitka Spruce agrees with all styles of guitars and players. Indian Rosewood takes the basic sonic thumbprint of Mahogany with it's strong midrange, and expands it in both directions, allowing for a deep low end and shimmering, bright highs. These two classic tonewoods are combined and constructed into the classic dreadnought body shape, making the 910e musically versatile and capable of satisfying the needs of any musician.

Taylor's dreadnought body style is the traditional shape for flatpickers, refined for the modern era. This body style is designed  to deliver incredible tone for guitarists with a hard picking attack. The dreadnought body allows for a deep low end with driving rhythms, and allows the guitar to maintains its overall tonal balance, keeping the low end from getting “muddy”.

The 910e employs Taylor's CV bracing, which incorporates Taylor's patented relief rout and additional refinements, including subtle contouring differences in the scalloping, which results in a rich and fat sound without having to sacrafice articulation. Taylor's patented relief rout is a tone-enhancing voicing technique in which a groove is carved along the inside edges of the top. This groove is similar in function to the re-curve on a violin — it “loosens up” the edges of the top, generating extra flexibility without sacrificing structural integrity. This results in an increased volume and bass response with a well-balanced tone.

The 25.5" scale neck of the 910e is carved from Tropical Mahogany into a comfortable, easy to play profile and is topped off with an Ebony fingerboard and gorgeous “Cindy” inlays.

The Taylor Expression System 2
The Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s proprietary behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated piezo-electric sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed pro audio-grade preamp, the ES2 produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the ES2 faithfully conveys the voice of a Taylor guitar.

Behind the ES2 Design: Rethinking the Piezo Pickup
For decades, piezo-electric transducers have been positioned under the saddle of a guitar based on the long-held belief that the string and top vibration cause the saddle to “bounce” up and down. But Taylor’s electronics team, led by developer David Hosler, discovered that the vertical movement is actually heavily restricted, and that the saddle gets “locked down” due to the string tension’s downward pressure. That’s why a traditional under-saddle pickup with piezo-electric crystals often responds with a sound characterized as thin, brittle, brash or synthetic, especially with more aggressive playing.

The saddle’s natural range of movement as the guitar is being played is actually back and forth like a pendulum. That revelation led Taylor’s design team to relocate the crystals from under the saddle to behind it. The new positioning enables the crystals to respond more naturally to the guitar’s energy as it is transferred through the saddle. Three piezo sensors are installed behind the saddle, through the bridge, with three tiny Allen screws that calibrate the pressure of the sensors against the saddle.

Like the original Taylor Expression System, the ES2 features the same volume and tone control knobs. The preamp is similar but with a slightly different gain structure. As a result it will be about 25 percent hotter, which is more in line with other pickups. This makes it plug-and-play friendly both for artists and live sound mixers.
