The Taylor GS Mini-E RW acoustic-electric guitar packs the voice of a full-sized guitar into a fun, compact size at an affordable price -- now offered with layered rosewood back and sides and onboard Taylor ES-T electronics.

The Taylor GS Mini-E RW Rosewood is the ultimate musical companion, wherever you go — or stay. Inspired by the big, bold sound of the Taylor Grand Symphony body shape, the Mini scales things down without skimping on sound, packing lots of tone into a comfortable size and giving you a guitar that's incredibly fun to play. Now offered with layered rosewood back and sides and onboard Taylor ES-T electronics.

If you liked the GS Mini before, you're going to LOVE this one. The Sitka spruce top is paired with layered Indian rosewood back and sides, which blends tone, aesthetic beauty, and durability, all at an appealing price point. Catering to the incredible sound of this fun-sized guitar, the GS Mini-E RW is supported by bracing that's specifically voiced for the GS Mini, and features the tone-enhancing Taylor Relief Rout which allows the top to vibrate more freely without sacrificing structural integrity. The ultra-playable short scale (23-1/2") sapele neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that boasts 5mm dot inlays.

Although you can add an the aftermarket soundhole ES-Go pickup to the GS Mini models that are strictly acoustic, the GS Mini-E RW comes right out of the factory with onboard Taylor Expression System-T (ES-T) electronics, which gives players more control over their sound and a more dynamic response. The ES-T is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. It comes equipped with an onboard preamp, a custom-voiced EQ and the same active controls found on the full Expression System for enhanced tone shaping capabilities. To combat the feedback associated with amplifying acoustic instruments, the pickup is loaded with a bulit-in phase switch, which is discretely located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The ES-T electronics are powered by a 9-volt battery, and features a battery life LED power indicator that lights up when the battery is being used.

The surprisingly big acoustic voice and the ability to plug in and play on demand makes the GS Mini-E RW a great choice if you're looking for a travel guitar to take with you on the road, or even just a smaller, more comfortable guitar to keep around the house. Comes with the full protection of a perfectly form fitted GS Mini hard bag.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini-E RW Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The only people who understand the plight of small hands are other people with small hands. Luckily, there is a smaller guitar for the small hand people, without compromise on tone and sound. Perhaps you are worried about space? Then this can serve as a faithful travel guitar. The shorter scale length is easily adaptable by any guitar player and certainly a blessing for the smaller hands!

      Big sound, Small body

Comments about Taylor GS Mini-E RW Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Taylor GS Mini definitely packs a punch. You get quite a loud sound from such a small body. The Rosewood body adds a nice, warm, bassy tone to the guitar. Unlike other Taylor Minis, this one come with electronics so you can plug it into an amp and have fun.

Awesome playing and awesome sounding guitar. It is technically a "mini" but it plays and sounds like a full size guitar. Great tone, crisp highs and the rosewood back and sides give it nice bottom end with good projection. Electronics are great. Great travel guitar.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini-E RW Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my favorite compact acoustic guitar. Although it's small in size, it still projects and has a full tone. The grand symphony body ensures that no sound in lost in such a small footprint. Its' classic tonewood pairing of rosewood and spruce is balanced well and provides a versatile sound. The shorter scale length is very comfortable and is easy to adjust to for any guitar player. The GS mini is a great travel guitar, or anyone that finds a full size guitar cumbersome.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini-E RW Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is small enough to be comfortable and big enough to sound great. Every single seasoned guitar player I've ever met has wanted to play it, and a few have even taken it into the studio for a different sound in the mix. I find that this is the guitar I pick up over and over. It has become my go to guitar for almost every occasion. You really cannot beat Taylor quality and playability, and this offers the best of that quality along with a smaller size for traveling troubadours or just mutant small handed strummers like me. I love it, and I'm pretty sure you will too. The rosewood and mahogany models have a richer sound IMO than the spruce top. If you want something super bright, go with spruce.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini-E RW Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I use this guitar as my go-to practice guitar. Its short scale and ever so slight V-shaped neck allow for comfortable chording all night long. This guitar plays like a dream. Absolutely turned two Taylor "haters" into afficinados overnight. The only complaint that I have at all is that the pickup system is terrible. So bad that I pulled the battery out of the compartment the first night. The rosewood backed model has an almost "hi-fi" sound which to my ears is perfect for the podunk movement or a lead guitar for folk & country music genres.
