Comments about Gretsch G5435T Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar with Bigsby:

I own several really fantastic guitars, including a RIC 360, a Les Paul Custom, A Tele, and an ES 335. This is a really fine instrument. Looks, feels, and plays like a Gretsch costing two thousand dollars more.

When I took the guitar to my luthier for a set-up, he was blown away by the quality, playability, tone, and feel of this guitar. If he didn't know better, he would have mistaken this for a Professional Series Gretsch. (And this guitar is made in China!)

The guitar needed very little set-up, and the only change I made was installing a set of TV Jones MagnaTrons, because I want the brighter vintage Gretsch sound of a Duo Jet from the late 50's/Early 60's. However, the stock pick-ups are real FilterTrons, similar to a Baldwin-Era Gretsch. Raise the poles, and they will sound about as good as the PU's on the Professional Series.

The neck is fast, the licensed Bigsby stays in tune, the finish is flawless I have the black finish), the tuners are accurate, and the chrome knobs not only look incredible, but the feel and finish make it easy to control and fine-tune the tone and volume.

Overall, this is a great guitar for a player at any level - with the chambered body (even lighter than my Les Paul) it even sounds good unplugged! If you have been considering a Gretsch - or even if you're looking for a great guitar at a good price (and thanks again, Rob, for getting me the best deal on this instrument) just three words of advice: buy the guitar!_
