The Gibson Flying V History Electric Guitar combines iconic looks with a few contemporary twists to accommodate the modern player of today.

Since its introduction over 50 years ago, the Gibson Flying V has continued to make a major statement when it comes to guitar design and style. In honor of the 120th Anniversary of Gibson, Gibson USA is proud to release the limited run Flying V History, which fuses classic looks with several modern twists.

The body of the Flying V History is crafted from grade-A mahogany and cut to the exacting angles of the original. The slimmed down dimensions of the iconic body shape offers a lighter feel and superb player comfort. For endless sustain and exceptional playability, the Gibson Flying V History sports a glued-in grade-A mahogany neck that's carved into a fast, thin V profile, and carries a one-piece grade-A rosewood fingerboard that houses 22 frets over binding, dot inlays and a commemorative 120th Anniversary banner. Just as the body, the familiar "arrowhead" Flying V headstock is slightly smaller and wears a white plastic truss-rod cover with a black "Gibson" logo.

The Gibson Flying V History comes outfitted with a pair of perfectly matched pickups, featuring a '57 Classic humbucker in the neck position and a '57 Classic Plus humbucker in the bridge position. Made in the image of vintage PAF (Patent Applied For) pickups, these pickups can take you from pure Gibson-fueled grind and growl to sweet and mellow. To shape your sound to your personal preference, the pickups are routed through 2 Volume controls, a single Tone control and a 3-way Switchcraft toggle pickup selector. The Flying V History comes performance-ready with chrome-plated hardware, including  a set of Grover kidney tuners with a 14:1 tuning ratio, a Tune-O-Matic bridge and a stopbar tailpiece. The Gibson Flying V History is dressed in an aged cherry nitrocellulose lacquer finish and comes with the full protection of a hardshell case.
