The Fender Standard Stratocaster Plus Top pairs famous Fender tone and classic style with an elegant flame maple top.

The Fender Standard Stratocaster Plus Top offers a striking blend of legendary Fender tone, playability, and style with the added elegance of a gorgeous flame maple top over the alder body. The body comes dressed in your choice of two flattering burst finishes that accentuate the beautiful top figure: Aged Cherry Burst and Tobacco Sunburst. Carved from maple into Fender's cozy Modern "C" profile, the neck carries a maple or pau ferro fingerboard (maple on Aged Cherry Burst, pau ferro on Tobacco Sunburst) with a more contemporary 9.5" radius and 21 medium-jumbo frets for excellent playability and effortless string bending.

Just as the Standard Stratocaster, the Fender Standard Stratocaster Plus Top comes equipped with a trio of Fender Standard Single-Coil pickups to deliver that classic single-coil Strat tone that made the originals legendary. The pickups are wired through a versatile 5-position blade, a Master Volume control, and dual Tone controls (Tone 1 for Neck Pickup, Tone 2 for Middle Pickup).

Chrome hardware rounds out this attractive, yet affordable package, and includes a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo bridge and a set of Standard Cast/Sealed tuners. Case not included.

Great player

This a great player for anyone who wants a flame top with classic single coils, a C shaped neck without spending thousands. Sounds great, feels great and plays really well. Mexican made instruments in general seem to get a bad rap, yet I know some major players who have used these in recordings that have gone platinum. Another great thing about these....the wood may obviously stay the same but you can ALWAYS change out the tuners and electronics at half of the price as a Made in the USA start!

Nice looking Strat you got there

If you haven't noticed, Fender has been putting out some great instruments from Mexico lately. This one plays better than the MIM Strats from around 10 years ago, with a finish and playability that even a seasoned player will like.

The top on the one I tried is very eye catching, and will work great on a stage. It's really dressed up the guitar, and is a worthy upgrade. The rest of the guitar is fairly standard strat: single coils, a volume, two tones, vintage style bridge (I'd prefer a modern bridge personally, but that's a fairly minor concern). The tone is bright and spanky like you'd expect a strat.

Stop in a location and try one out. You won't be disappointed.

Can't beat a good ol' standard Stratocaster! Out of all the colors this is definitely my favorite - I love the flame top. It's definitely unique and stands out from the rest of the lineup. Other than that it plays, sounds, and feels like a high-end strat.

Classic Fender Strat

A very fresh take from Fender on one of my favorite guitar shapes, the classic Stratocaster. Three of Fenders standard Single-Coil pickups come preinstalled to deliver a traditional single-coil Stratocaster sound. The body comes in either of two finishes, aged cherry with a maple fingeboard or tobacco with a Pau Ferro fingerboard. They both look equally marvelous and have the great all around playability that Stratocasters are known for

This fantastic Fender strat is now being offered with a flame maple top, and it looks great. A lot more flashy that that standard strat colors. Otherwise this guitar is all strat, great chimy pickups and the standard volume, 2 tone, and 5 way switch. Great guitar at a great price!

    Attractive yet affordable

So you've obviously seen the great looking flame maple top that will help set this apart from the usual standard strats. You get all the classic things that have made the standard strat one of the most popular guitars on the market. Alder body, 3 standard single coils, beautiful finishes, maple neck, strat wiring, modern C neck, etc. I'll be entirely honest most of these Mexican built Fenders are terrific quality instruments straight from the box and with a little love and labor can really be terrific players guitars. Aside from suggesting a Gator transit series bag and a setup plan to protect your investment. There are a lot of great ways to personalize/upgrade the guitar to suit you. For example I like to switch the nut to bone and install my preferred 11-50 gauge strings on, swap out the pickups (lots of great choices these days depending on the tone you're after), I also like to modify the electronics to a Passive Treble Bass circuit (a Leo Fender design) with master volume and add a switch so I can do neck & bridge and all three pickups in addition to the stock 5 way switch settings. Although that may seem like a lot it's often stuff I'd do to personalize any instrument and the cost of admission here with those upgrades/personalizations still land you considerably less than an American made strat and often after the setup work and upgrades your Mexican may outperform many amerian made instruments out of the box.
