Since its birth in 1960, the Fender Jazz Bass has continued to be the standard bearer and a frontline force in the world of popular music. Fretless Fender basses began to appear in the early 1970’s and the late, legendary fusion-jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius created his own fretless bass by removing the frets from a Jazz Bass. His popularity created a demand for the fretless bass, and the Fretless Jazz Bass led the way.

Features include an alder body with the familiar contours and ‘offset waist’ design that Jazz basses are so legendary for. Fender retained their legendary uncomplicated electronics by outfitting the Standard Fretless Jazz Bass with vintage style single-coil pickups. A tapered width maple neck featuring a rosewood fingerboard with ‘fretline’ markers and dot inlays will maximize playability. Chrome hardware includes a Standard Vintage 4 saddle bass bridge and open gear tuners. Case not included.
