The Fender Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster - distinctive features for distinctive players. Get yours from Sam Ash Direct today.
The Ritchie Blackmore Signature Stratocaster is an unusual instrument from an unusual player. Ritchie Blackmore first became famous with the Deep Purple -- everyone knows his riffs from "Smoke on the Water" and later with his bands Rainbow and the renaissance themed Blackmore's Night. Ritchie Blackmore has used Stratocasters almost exclusively since the 1960s.
The most distinctive feature of the Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster is its graduated scalloped rosewood fingerboard, in which the area between each of the 21 frets is carved out in a U shaped hollow. This scalloped fingerboard has been a feature of most of Blackmore's guitars and is similar to the fingerboard design of ancient lutes. It is also found in the Yngwie Malmsteen Strat. The U shaped maple neck is finished in gloss polyurethane with vintage style frets is mounted with a 3 bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt neck adjustment,
Blackmore has experimented over time with his pickups, but generally his guitars have the middle pickup screwed down and not used with only the bass and treble pickups active. In this Ritchie Blackmore Signature Stratocaster, this is reflected in having an inactive "dummy" middle pickup. The bridge pickup is a Reverse Wound/Reverse Polarity Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Flat SSL-4 single coil strat pickup and the neck pickup is a standard Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Flat SSL-4 single coil pickup. The three position blade pickup selector lets you choose the bridge pickup in position 1, both pickups in position 2 (which also gives you cancellation of any 60 cycle hum you may encounter), and the neck pickup in position 3.
The Blackmore Stratocaster also features Vintage "F" Style tuning machines, a vintage style tremolo, and flush mounted Dunlop straplocks. The large 1970s style headstock has Ritchie Blackmore's signature on the front. Its alder body is a beautiful Olympic White (which goes well with both Deep Purple and Rainbow colors).
The Blackmore Stratocaster comes in a Fender Deluxe Gig Bag with makes it easy to carry and has ample room for accessories and effects.

Comments about Fender Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
Now there's a revelation… Ritchie actually does play this guitar, I've seen it on stage, but… What he also does is take the neck off the signature and glue it on a Standard American body if he wants a different colored Strat. Maybe he does this with an Olympic white version as well… Just place black pickups inside and a signature neck, and we all assume he's playing the signature model. This is just a thought, but that he glues this neck on different Standard Americans is a fact especially the sunburst. However, although Mexican made, this guitar is just phenomenal! Tried it, loved it more than an American standard, maybe it's the pickups or maybe it is just a better instrument but the workforce in Mexico is cheaper than in USA, so that is why it is actually cheaper, but IMHO better. (Not as versatile though)
