Fender unveiled its “Tweed” series amps to great success and acclaim in 1993. The concept: What if a great old collectable 1950s Deluxe or Bassman® was customized with channel switching and reverb?

Behold the Reissue Blues Deluxe—a vintage-style tube amp with “boutique” tone at a great price that many a pro rock, country and blues player has used to superb effect. While its newer cousin, the Hot Rod Deluxe, has many modern refinements, more and more enthusiasts continue to request the warm tone, unique circuitry, classic features and sharp look of the original version.

Accordingly, the Reissue Blues Deluxe sends 40 watts of juice into a single 12” Special Design Eminence® speaker, fueled by two 6L6 output tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes. Its two channels, “normal” (with bright switch) and “drive,” are voiced for classic blues, country and rock; other features include Fender spring reverb, an effects loop and two-button channel footswitch. The great look includes tweed covering, “chicken head” pointer knobs and a chrome control panel.

Features:
  • 1-12" Special Design Eminence® 8 ohm, 50 watt Speaker
  • All Tube Preamp and Power Amp
  • 40 watts power at 8 ohms
  • 3 X 12AX7, 2 X 6L6 tubes with SS Rectifier
  • Dual Selectable Channels (Vintage and Drive)
  • Independent Gain and Master Controls in the Drive Channel
  • Bright Switch
  • Effects Loop
  • Reverb
  • 1-Button Footswitch for Drive Select
  • Chrome Panel
  • Vintage Chicken-Head Pointer Knobs
  • Genuine Tweed covering

Comments about Fender Reissue Blues Deluxe 1x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

This is my Main Amp for Performances. It is more powerful that my Blues Jr and more portable that my Twin Reverb. Sounds Great with or without pedals. This Amp is very loud but sounds great for Blues, R&B, Gospel Music. The Tweed is very stunning in appearance on stage and has the classic look of Fender 1950 Amps. I love this Amp. If you play Blues this is the Amp to use.

Comments about Fender Reissue Blues Deluxe 1x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

This amp is werid sounds great but is not the best of whats out there. The master knob and volume knobs are confusing as hell and trying to work them is not yet understandable. I messed with the foot switch and the buttons on top of the amp and i still couldnt figure out how to work the master and driver knobs.. not to pleased to say they least

Comments about Fender Reissue Blues Deluxe 1x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I bought this amp as a step down from my vintage '65 Super Reverb which has to be cranked pretty high to overdrive. I wanted something a little lighter and less powerful that offered both and clean and driven tone. This amp seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Within a few weeks after it arrived, it would cut out and make horrible staticy noises. [...] Regretfully, that shop was never able to isolate and repair the problem after numerous visits to them leaving me without the amp for weeks at a time. I finally sought Fender's assistance and they authorized a different shop in another city to repair it. It was gone for a couple more weeks this time. It worked pretty well for a few weeks after it was returned until one day it started smoking and giving off electrical burn odor. I returned it to the first shop who wanted to ship it to Fender for repairs. Fender declined, insisting instead that I take it to yet another shop in the second city all at my expense. I live two hours away from this particular city. I have yet to pick up the amp and deliver it to the shop recommended by Fender. Just this morning I wrote a letter to Fender setting out this history to them and asking for either a replacement amp or a refund. I bought this amp in October 2008 and it has been nothing but a problem.

Comments about Fender Reissue Blues Deluxe 1x12" Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I tried many, many amps costing up to twice as much before buying this one. The BDRI came in first for great tone. I love it's rich bottom and lower mids that are typically so hard to get in a 12" combo. The top end is very round, not as overly bright as most Fenders, although I do keep the Treble at 4-5 and the bright switch off when using my Strats. It's really true what Fender says about this amp - "boutique tone at a great price". The only amp I'd rather have is the Fender 57 Twin which I have also played. Yes, it's even better, but the Blues Deluxe Reissue delivers very similar fat blues tone for less than 1/3 the cost. Light enough to carry in one hand, plenty powerful enough to fill a good-sized club and match the stage volume of the most aggressive drummer. I did replace the stock Eminence speaker (which isn't bad) with an 80 watt Celestion I had laying around. It provides more headroom, which I like since I only use the clean channel. To get more crunch, I use a Fulltone OCD. The Drive channel is a bit harsh to my ears. With the OCD I don't need it. All in all I'm VERY happy with this amp. It has become my number 1 for all venues.
