Order your Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang from Sam Ash Direct today for the guaranteed lowest price.

During the early ’90s, a musical revolution had begun. The face of pop music was changing drastically, and Kurt Cobain was leading the charge. Nirvana achieved platinum sales and almost single-headedly created a whole new movement in rock & roll music. Although Cobain went through many guitars due in part to Nirvana’s ritualistic destruction of their instruments at the end of their act, he is most frequently associated with the Fender Mustang. Fender has recreated this iconic guitar and is now available to you at an affordable price.

Kurt modified most of his guitars, including his arsenal of Mustangs. Fender has replicated the Cobain set-up by employing highly distinctive features including an angled single-coil Mustang neck pickup and Seymour Duncan® JB humbucking bridge pickup mounted directly to the body, dual on-off/phase in-out switches for each pickup, a polyester-finished alder body and an Adjusto-Matic™ bridge with dynamic vibrato tailpiece.

Other features include the classic 24” Mustang scale length, C-shaped maple neck with urethane finish, 7.25”-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 vintage-style frets and vintage-style ivory dot inlays, four-ply pickguard (Aged White Pearl on Fiesta Red and Dark Lake Placid Blue with stripe models; Tortoiseshell on Sonic Blue model), master volume and tone controls, vintage-style tuners, and chrome hardware. Finish options include Fiesta red, Sonic Blue and Dark Lake Placid Blue with stripe. Available in right- and left-handed models. Case not included.

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 XL Heavy Electric Guitar Strings (12-54):

I finally got one after wanting one and was getting ready to build my own from a 69RI until this came out . I opted for the Plaid Blue with Racing Stripe. After taking it home it's been a great guitar . TOM Bridge is nice compared to the standard Mustang . Typical Fender Japan quality ... Spot on. My only issue would be the Duncan JB ( Only opinion ) . Just sounds muddy in it .. I might tear it out for a brighter pickup but if you like Duncan JBs you'l love this guitar .

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 XL Heavy Electric Guitar Strings (12-54):

Got mine from Sam Ash recently and love it! Been playing since 68. My first solid body was a 66 Fender Mustang, and I always regretted trading it. So when I found a Mustang in Sonic Blue with stripes I grabbed it. Despite my other top end electrics, this guitar is uniquely suited to classic 60's and surf rock; it's very bright and clean. It's tone color is somewhere between a Jaguar and Stratocaster. The rock maple neck is fast and the alder body is very light and comfortable, aided further by the contour relief on the back side, which was not on original Mustangs. The workmanship is superb. The SD HB Lead pickup gives it plenty of Lead voice when you need it. The 60's profile and shortscale neck is perfect for people with small hands like mine. Since the neck pickup is single-wound, it needs a little more amplification than a pure humbucking guitar. Strongly recommend using it with Fender and Vox tube amps for its best sound. It's a niche guitar, so if a Les Paul is your thing, don't bother, but if you want the sound quality of a Stratocaster and don't want a Squier, this guitar will get you very close to an American Strat or Jag at a very nice price, and I think, better quality than Squier.
