Comments about Fender Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've been playing professionally for about 30 years. In my experience this guitar beats out any other Fender Strat Models including the Custom Shop. My Professional Experience includes playing with the Outlaws and with Lynrd Skynrd so I do know guitars. I have and would not hesitate to use one onstage right out of the box.

Comments about Fender Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I got mine two years ago and was happy with it right away. Being obsessive about this stuff, I did make mods, but none of them are really crucial. The most important one, which I would recommend for ANY Strat, was installing a solid steel inertia bar, which vastly improves the vibration and overall playability. The craftsmanship on mine was not above criticism: Pickguard was lifting of the body in places, there was a screw protruding from inside the body cavity into the tremolo compartment (ouch!), but these are small concerns, given what you get here for your money. If you're a dicerning player on a budget, go for it!

Comments about Fender Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I really like the looks and feel of this guitar.Hook it up to a VooDoo labs vibrato and it gets that swamp blues.I tinted the neck for the vintage look, replaced the pickguard, installed a tremsetter. My Buddy bought one in black as soon as he saw and played my white one.He has had his in the shop 3 times in as many months, electrical problems, set up,short in 3 way switch, luck of the draw I guess....

Comments about Fender Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have owned several Strats - including the vastly overrated EJ model and an American Standard (both returned in disgust). This [...] Jimmy V model smokes them all - except perhaps the Schecter Strat copy I bought and foolishly sold in the eighties. [...] I installed Duncan pickups and some custom parallel/sequential wiring [...] When my JV strat arrived, I swapped the 9s for 10s and set the intonation (which was 5/6 spot-on anyway). Perfect! The maple neck has a just the right tiny bit of relief - didn't have to mess with the truss at all. Plays beautifully all the way up, and the V-shaped neck is absolutely at home in my left hand; satin finish smooth and totally playable. It's been a long time since I got up early to play before work, but this guitar had me doing so. I firmly believe that spending any more than the [$]this Strat cost would be a waste of money - even the pickups; for the first time, I will not be ripping out the pickups and installing Duncans, which is my usual routine with any guitar. If you are a strat fan, you owe it to yourself to play this axe...it will sell itself to you.
