This is a great universal guitar...I use the Rythum switch and play BASS through a twin 12in
cabinet...The Lead Switch is Excellant...I owned a 1965 3 color sunburst and this is better handling, better sounding, and over all a GREAT
value...Invest in a Reissue 1965 Twin Rvberb or
Frontman 212 (transistored twin reverb) or Super Reverb..and you have it all!
Bought this is September'10. Unlike some other reviews, mine was set up perfect, flawless finish. This does stay in tune if you lock the trem. otherwise, it does need occasional adjusting. Great action. All in all, this is a great guitar. Is is as good as the '62? No, but for the price, you won't find any better.
I bought this at the Charlotte NC store. I love this guitar. It sounds different then all my other Fenders. The bridge is improved and the pickups are hotter the the old Jags.I think it plays and sounds better then my old 64 Jag I bought at Mannys in NY in 1965. Finish and quality are excellent and the neck and action are fantastic.
This is a great guitar. Action and quality are fantastic and as good as anything I have had.I have been playing for 53 years. Bought it in the Charlotte, NC store. Had a 65 Jag and this is better than the original. Bridge is improved, Pickups are great and it plays like a Fender.Mexico is making great guitars. Get one.
You would have figured that by now, we all would know better than to buy a mexican Fender. I guess not. To the point: Milling/sanding marks visible under/through the finish, sharp fret ends that raise up, non-American tremolo throws you out of tune every time, string tree screw was not drilled deep enough (so the string tree would rattle. I had to counter bore it properly ).
This Jag is NOT, a good substitute for an American Jag. My advice, save your pennies and buy the American Jag.
