Continuing a tradition that has led the industry since 1954, the Fender American Standard Stratocaster electric guitar delivers pure Fender tone, playability, and style.

The American Standard Stratocaster is a fine addition to the already towering legacy of the Strat that only continues to grow. This American Standard Stratocaster features an alder body (ash on Sienna Sunburst) with the legendary 'comfort contour' design that was way ahead of its time. The body also features a thinner finish which allows the wood to 'breathe' for improved resonance and tone.

The American Standard Stratocaster is available with either a maple neck with a maple fingerboard or a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is carved into a comfortable modern "C"-shape profile while the fingerboard boasts 22 medium jumbo frets and a more contemporary 9.5" radius for cleaner string bending and faster action. Rolled fingerboard edges will give this Stratocaster a comfortable, well-played feel.

The body is outfitted with a trio of full-sounding Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups to deliver those clear, bell-like, bright Strat tones that continue to be the driving force behind an endless list of guitar legends. Finding your perfect sound has never been easier, the electronics include a versatile 5-way pickup selector blade, a Master Volume control, and two Tone controls (Tone 1. Neck Pickup, Tone 2. Bridge/Middle Pickups).

Chrome hardware includes an upgraded modern 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge that features bent steel saddles and a copper-infused block for increased sustain and great intonation. A set of Fender Standard Staggered Cast/Sealed tuners improve the angle of the strings over the nut for superior performance. A parchment colored pickguard and Aged White plastic pickup covers and knobs add an attractive, vintage vibe to this modern day classic. Finally, a protective, Fender hardshell case is included along with a cable, strap, and polishing cloth.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This is my first Electric Guitar that I had bought Feb 1 2014. While I was doing my research in finding the guitar for me, It came down to 3 guitars. All Fender: Deluxe Lone Star, Fender American Special, then the American Standard.

Quality wise, Tonality, and Features all pointed to the American Standard. Watching countless video demos. I knew what I wanted. I'm happy I made this choice.

When I came into the store. I brought my friend who is a guitar player. I had him help me test out the guitars. We tried the Mystic Blue color with a Maple Fretboard, then we tried the Jade Pearl with a Rosewood Fretboard. I personally like the Rosewood fretboard. I ended up ordering a brand new Mystic Blue Fender American Standard with Rosewood Fretboard.

I came in to pick up my guitar a few days later. My friend came with me again because I realized I need to get an amp for my guitar. (Showing you how Novice I am). The customer rep brought out my guitar, right out of the shipping box. The guitar came with it's own case, strap, amp cable, info on registering the instrument. I opened the case and there was my guitar, smelling like fresh paint, I decided to inspect the guitar. I noticed that the metal plaque, on the back of the guitar, had the 60th anniversary of the Strat design. The ones i played and tested the other day only had the plaque that said Fender, which I thought was really cool.

I am planning on keeping this in great condition, so hopefully the value will appreciate over time. I know this will have sentimental value to me, so I know I won't ever sell it.

My guitar-hoarding friend complimented the tone of this guitar.
By "No Spare Vibrato Spring", I am referring to the tiny one inside the vibrato arm hole. When it fell out onto the floor the 1st time, it took me an hour to figure out what it was and where to return it to. With the vibrato arm out, it falls to the floor and the owner's manual doesn't mention it. I need a spare spring more than I need a spare pick or a spare string.

The guitar I've been waiting for

        By

        from Nebraska

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've owned several guitars over 20 years and this is my favorite. I've had yamaha's, charvels, mexi strats and custom shops and this guitar beats them all by far. To start, it's has incredible finish and workmanship. I got the 3 colr sunburst with maple fretboard, and it is stunning- better than the pictures. Love the fretboard- best I've played. It stays in tune and sound great! I play it through a korg ax3000g and it sounds incredible. These 2012's are strats at their best. Definitley worth the money !!
