The Epiphone Les Paul PlusTop PRO delivers Gibson quality and tone at a working musician’s price.

From its inception in 1952, the Les Paul has combined stunning elegance with maximum playability and tone. Sporting a solid mahogany body and a stunning maple top, the Les Paul Standard has caught many an eye while attracting the ears of guitarists everywhere.  All of the style and tone that made the Les Paul Standard an iconic instrument is available here, at an extremely affordable price. The Epiphone Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar continues the Les Paul legend and tradition of quality and performance that is stronger than ever after 6 decades.

To preserve the tradition of unsurpassed tone, the Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar is outfitted with a pair of ProBucker humbucking pickups. These Alnico II equipped pickups deliver the sounds of decades past, yet capable of the most up to the minute tones that will satisfy the demand of modern players. The electronics are completed by the traditional layout of two separate volume and tone controls for each pickup. The tone controls feature a push/pull coil-tapping system to further expand the tonal versatility of this Les Paul, along with a three-way switch.

A mahogany neck is carved to a comfortably slim tapered 60s style profile. The neck is capped with 22 medium jumbo frets, a rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays, and a radius of 12" for easy playability and smooth effortless string-bending. Case not included.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar 3 weeks ago. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with it. My main guitar is a Clapton signature Strat. The Les Paul compares very favorably at 1/3 the price. I'd played a Gibson LP Custom in the early 80s and wanted to get another but not willing to pay $5k and upwards. The Epiphone version was the right price so I got it. I find the tone to be wonderful. The pickup tapping offers a range from the full Jimmy Page humbucker drive to a sweet single coil sound. Better yet I am currently in love with the lead pickup on dual with the rhythm on single coil and the switch in the middle position. I respectfully disagree with the earlier comment that you won't hear a difference when splitting - the tone and volume are both significantly different.

Last but not least, I love how it plays. Out of the box, the strings were a little high. and it comes with 10s. I haven't replaced the strings with 9s yet, but was able to lower the strings considerably with no buzz. Sweet.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

I am extremely picky when it comes to buying guitars. I spent hours looking for the right guitar for the right price and I was a little sketchy when I saw the price of this. I went to Samash and played the guitar and was blown away by the playability and everything! I completely 100% recommend this guitar! I love everything about it and have had mine for 3 years now. I use it whenever I perform or practice and never had any problems with it. I bought the trans blue LP and over the three years the color has faded to a purple that is soooo beautiful. Whenever I take it in the shop to clean it or check it, they are amazed of how more beautiful it looks when aging. I said it earlier and I'll say it again, BUY THE GUITAR! Seriously, I know how it's like to be hesitant and not sure if you think it's a good idea. Well this guitar is the best deal you'll get for that price range!

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar all around. Great pickups, tone, fretboard. The only thing is theres really not a big difference between the single coil coil tapping so dont expect a drastic change in tone.
