This new introduction to the S.L.P. line is sure to make any drummer salivate. With a 6-ply Maple shell and Wood hoops, this drummer delivers pro quality at an affordable price.

When Tama released the S.L.P. series they ushered in an age of pro-quality snares at dirt cheap prices. Musicians everywhere have rejoiced in the numerous flavors of sound that the S.L.P. series offers. From different shell types, to sizes, hoops, and everything in between, the S.L.P. series is sure to have something to please anyone and everyone. For 2013 Tama is releasing the first S.L.P. to come with wood hoops! The Tama Studio Maple Snare features 100% maple hoops that are coated in urethane for increased durability.

This drum features a 6.5”x 14” 6-ply/5mm shell made of 100% Maple. Maple has been a favorite of players and builders alike for many years due to it’s warm, fat, full bodied sound. It has a warm, mellow, and buttery spread and is extremely resonant. Quite simply, this is how drums should sound. Combined with the wood hoops, this drum is extremely open and breathy. It’s musicality is unrivaled and the versatility of this drum is all the proof you need. From jazz to hard rock and everything in between this drum not only works, but out performs drums well over it’s price range.

This snare features Tama’s signature Starclassic lugs. These low mass lugs create less surface tension with the shell, allowing it to breath more and have more of an open characteristic. This also greatly improves the resonance. This snare features 8 lugs in order to give it a wetter tone. As if this wasn’t enough, this snare also features the linear-drive snare strainer, which is usually found on Tama’s flagship snares. The “linear-drive” strainer was designed to give you more control over the adjustment arm. You won’t hear that usual slap when the snares hit the bottom head. This guarantees a seamless transfer when going between snare sounds. This strainer also keeps the snare wire/tape holder at a 30 degree angle to reduce any and all unnecessary pressure on the strainer as well as the shell. This helps improve resonance while giving the drum a truer tone. This 30 degree angle also helps eliminate unwanted buzzing.

So, what are you waiting for? It’s never been easier to get the snare of your dreams at a great price. Get your Tama S.L.P. Studio Maple 6.5”x14” Snare Drum with Wood Hoops from Sam Ash Direct today. Comments about Tama S.L.P. Studio Maple 6.5x14" Snare Drum with Wood Hoops:

I use this for basically any gig I do. The tone is warm and cuts threw any kind of music, gospel musicians love this snare. if tuned right you will get nothing but great compliments. what's great about it is the color it comes in, it stands out on your drum set no matter what kind of color you have however it would be nice to have more color choices.
