Comments about Fender American Special Telecaster Electric Guitar (Assorted Colors):

I avoided Telecasters for many years as I am not a "country" player. Once I finally got around to playing them I was instantly hooked.
The American Special is one of my favorites. The brass saddles are an important part of this guitars tone. Between that and the Texas Special pickups the guitar is capable of great blues and rock tones.
I especially like the traditional body shape (without the "tummy cut" of the newer Standards).
Some don't like the jumbo frets, but I don't see any drawback to them. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the satin finish neck. I prefer a gloss finish neck, but I'll happily accept this guitar the way it is.
If you want an American Telecaster with a lower price, get one of these!

Comments about Fender American Special Telecaster Electric Guitar (Assorted Colors):

I have been playing guitar for 33 years and have owned many electrics.Fenders and Gibsons mostly.I know a little about what makes a quality guitar and I can honestly say that this guitar is as good as the american standard. If jumbo frets don't bother you, then pick this one over the amer. standard and save a few dollars.
