Comments about Samson Sr850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones:

I was trying different headphones at the demo display in the store and was surprised at the good sound. I already have the Audio Technica ATH-M50 and Sennheiser HD280. I wore out the Sennheiser ear pads which kills the bass due to air leaks, and find the M-50 to be the best sounding.

What I like about the Sr850 is the good clean sound, decent bass and semi open back. I use them for my drum monitor on my electronic kit. It lets in enough ambient sound to hear the band around me during rehearsal without having to take off the headphones to hear conversation or instructions. My Shure Se215 in ear monitors sound very good, but very isolated, even using an ambient mic. Same with the M-50.

I was looking for superior sounding headphones without having to break the bank... I found them here. Compared to Beats Studio, these cans are by far the best bang for the buck - they may not be as "pretty" or "hip" but they definitely take care of business. Nice deep bass, crisp highs - defined left/right separation. Currently, I'm using these in my home studio - PC/Mac, drum machine, and music production software, mixer and misc. outboard gear.

Comments about Samson Sr850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones:

The sound is very rich, there is a very little static if not at all. I have small ears but rather big head, so the cups are not so comfortable. I had to took them off after 15 min and bent the steel rods.

Comments about Samson Sr850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones:

The Samson SR850 Headphones were modeled after the legendary AKG k240s. As an owner of both (multiple K240s to be honest), the SR850s are a great alternative for the studio on a budget. At half the cost of the K240s, and 90% the sound, they are perfect for doing mixing and mastering, without that pesky $40 AKG Cable breaking all the time!

Comments about Samson Sr850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones:

These Samson SR850's are an incredibly accurate pair of mid-range headphones, perfect for mixing and mastering in your home studio. I've used them when creating tracks in programs like Maschine and Reason, simply because they're very precise and comfortable to wear over long periods of time. I would also recommend them for use while playing guitar and keys at home too, since they hold up in a wide range of frequencies and will sound good in a variety of applications!

Comments about Samson Sr850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones:

Good set of headphones for the price. Open back does allow sound to escape so I would not reccomend for professional recording with a hot mic, however these are still a great quality headphone for anyone recording on a budget.
