The Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar delivers professional quality and amazing tone at an extremely affordable price.

The Taylor 214ce features Taylor's Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 210 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. While the bigger Dreadnought was traditionally considered a flatpicker’s guitar and the smaller Grand Concert catered to fingerstylists, the Grand Auditorium was designed to deliver on both fronts. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the multi-dimensional Grand Auditorium won’t let you down.

The Taylor 214ce boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor's "X" bracing. As a Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well. Sitka produces a slightly brighter tone than does Engelmann. The back and sides are crafted from layered Indian rosewood which presents a beautiful aesthetic in a durable, affordable package.

The slim taper neck is carved from sapele, which is denser and harder than mahogany. You will love the ease and playability of the fast, thin profile of this neck and 20 fret ebony fingerboard. The cutaway body design of the Taylor 214ce allows you to access the upper register notes for when you're reaching for a little extra in your soloing.

When it's time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 214ce comes equipped with Taylor's revolutionary Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics. The Taylor 214ce is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A protective Taylor Hard Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

So far, I'm loving the guitar. I especially like the neck, and I'm getting used to it. I also like the rich sound, especially when amplified. I was also impressed with the way that a representative from Sam Ash contacted me, following up my purchase. He explained features of the guitar, etc., and helped me with additional purchase needs.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The taylor 200 series is typical Taylor sound and quality if a more affordable package. The feel and playabiltiy of this guitar are unparalleled at this price point. Very much like its big brothers in the 400 and 600 series. Practical and affordable...thats all you need.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'm a classical guitarist so steel strings have not been my thing......at least that's how it was until now. I've always like Taylors because my ears are naturally drawn toward warmer, unique sounding guitars. When I saw Taylor came out with a guitar under $1000, I thought it would be impossible for them to duplicate the sound and quality of their more professional models. Well, I tried it out one night and now I'm saving my money to buy one. It would be nice to have a warm sounding quality steel string a home to strum on, but I couldn't afford $2000+ dollars for a pro level Taylor.

Thank you Taylor for building such a lovely, beautiful guitar that us cheapskates can afford! Do try this guitar out. It's amazing!

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Taylor Guitars is one of the most amazing and innovative guitar companies in the world! Taylor never skimps on the quality of materials or craftsmanship. Solid spruce top with layered rosewood back and sides. Because of the way Taylor attaches it's necks to it's bodies, you get a consistent, comfortable playability all the way up or down the fingerboard. Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

One of my favorite guitars in this price range. Taylor really speaks to the modern acoustic guitar player, their polished bright sound rings out and cuts better than any other guitar. The layered rosewood back and sides look and sound amazing when coupled with the solid sitka spruce top. Ive always been a huge fan of the expression system simple control scheme, as it isnt all bulky and invasive as most other acoustic preamp systems are.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Having tried most of the Taylor line at Sam Ash, this guitar will give you all the quality and tone known of Taylors but at a great price. It's got a very full-bodied tone, nothing tinny or weak sounding in the bottom end or lower-mids range. It has a shimmery high end without a brittle or plastic sound. Like most Taylors, the neck has a nice smooth feel, with a good width for playability. This guitar would be great for flat-picking, fingerstyle, singer-songwriter styles etc.
