The Taylor 214ce Cutaway Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar delivers professional quality and style at an extremely affordable price.

The Taylor 214ce features Taylor's Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 210 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. While the bigger Dreadnought was traditionally considered a flatpicker’s guitar and the smaller Grand Concert catered to fingerstylists, the Grand Auditorium was designed to deliver on both fronts. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the multi-dimensional Grand Auditorium won’t let you down.

The Taylor 214ce boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s “X” bracing. As a Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well. Sitka produces a slightly brighter tone than does Engelmann. The back and sides are crafted from layered Indian rosewood which presents a beautiful aesthetic in a durable, affordable package.

The slim taper neck is carved from Sapele, which is denser and harder than mahogany. You will love the ease and playability of the fast, thin profile of this neck and 20 fret ebony fingerboard. The cutaway body design of the Taylor 214ce allows you to access the upper register notes for when you’re reaching for a little extra in your soloing.

When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 214ce features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 214ce is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The taylor 200 series is typical Taylor sound and quality if a more affordable package. The feel and playabiltiy of this guitar are unparalleled at this price point. Very much like its big brothers in the 400 and 600 series. Practical and affordable...thats all you need.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Taylor 214CE is my go to guitar! The neck feels so natural and the action on the strings is just right. It's extremely loud and vibrant and can fill the sounds of any room. Although it is slightly smaller than your average grand auditorium, it is still very mighty. I also highly enjoy the electronics built into it. When plugged in, the guitar keeps to its true and natural sound. Taylor has never ceased to disappoint me as a guitarist and they have yet again out done themselves! Bravo!

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is the go to acoustic electric guitar. Taylors are notoriously consistent in terms of feel and build quality and this model just embodies that. The ebony fingerboard has that smooth, fast feel and offers almost no resistance while playing chords or sliding up and down the neck. The satin finished neck helps with the feel as well. The spruce top and rosewood back and sides are an amazing sonic match. It really shines brightly, but carries all the low end as well. Plugged in nothing sounds as natural as a Taylor. Even limited to just a volume, bass, and treble controls this guitar just offers a true acoustic quality sound. The padded gigbag that comes with the guitar is also great. The zippers are big and don't jam, it's light weight, and it's reinforced sides give the guitar a lot of protection. With the 214 CE you can't go wrong.

Great guitar, great playability, great sound! It has laminate back and sides, but who cares? That makes the guitar affordable without cutting quality. The neck is very comfortable, the tone is bright, and it's a Taylor at a relatively affordable price. If you're into Taylor Guitars and you're looking for a great guitar in this price range then this bad boy is for you!

The feel and action playability is hands down the best. It's affordable and practical for my budget. I'm a staff reviewer at Sam Ash Music.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'm a classical guitarist so steel strings have not been my thing......at least that's how it was until now. I've always like Taylors because my ears are naturally drawn toward warmer, unique sounding guitars. When I saw Taylor came out with a guitar under $1000, I thought it would be impossible for them to duplicate the sound and quality of their more professional models. Well, I tried it out one night and now I'm saving my money to buy one. It would be nice to have a warm sounding quality steel string a home to strum on, but I couldn't afford $2000+ dollars for a pro level Taylor.

Thank you Taylor for building such a lovely, beautiful guitar that us cheapskates can afford! Do try this guitar out. It's amazing!
