Evans Resonant Black series features a single ply of 7.5mil film that responds quickly and projects well. Along with the Resonant Glass series, they are the thinnest resonant heads in the Evans line.

Evans Resonant Black drum head offers a shortened sustain and bright tone due to the thin ply of 7.5mil film. With increased sensitivity and enhanced projection, the Evans Resonant Black drum head is optimal for live performances.

For over 40 years, Evans has been a pioneer of drum head manufacturing and design. Known for innovative designs such as EMAD, EC2S, and the Hydraulic series, Evans drum heads are made in the USA in a state of the art manufacturing facility. Acquired in 1996 by D’Addario and Company, the global leader in musical instrument accessories, the Evans brand is synonymous with quality and consistency.

Evans Black Reso Head review

Comments about Evans Resonant Black Drum Head:

A friend of mine who's a VERY trusted name in the drum community as a stick and head rep, made a comparison regarding resonant and batter head combos as a Coke and Pepsi situation...you really want to match your resonant head to your batter to get the tone you're looking for. For my toms, I like a deeper darker tone. I use these Evans Black Resos along with Onyx batters to get the ideal tom sound for me...dark, dry by not too dry, perfect combo of tone, with just enough sustain. And they look cool. Highly recommend.
