If you're looking for a guitar at this price range, do not look any further. The pickups are great for soloing and riffing (of course the super fast fretboard helps a lot!)great sustain and stays in tune very well. it is a very versatile guitar although it was born to be the metal axe it is! Because of the TOM styled bridge, impromptu tunnings can be easly acomplished (with the correct string gauge). ESP's (and LTD's) are the best! END OF STORY!
Well I owned this guitar a few days ago, The EMGs 81 85 provides a great tone, the guitar is very light and the neck is very confortable and thin. I used this guitar to play everything (Metal - Blues - etc.) and it has not let me down. It has very long sustain and when you put the neck pick up you get an excelent tone for playing solos. If you are buying this guitar for the EMGs I can tell you that you can find something cheaper with a very closely tone but I highly recommend this guitar, mostly for metal but it can play everything for sure.
I play a wide variety of music, and this guitar does it all. Very happy with this guitar. I play in a lot of tunings and it stays in tune in drop D and drop G perfectly (with the right strings of course). You should buy this guitar. Seriously.
I have the older mh401qmnt, which is almost identical in specs. The emgs are awesome. The guitar is light and fits me well, and the neck is thin and easy to play. The only difference between my guitar and this one is the tuners and the mh401 might have an Earvana compensating nut, but I'm not sure.
