The Wildkat is truly an Epiphone original! The coolest Kat in the jungle!

This smaller-body semi-hollow guitar has great vintage semi-hollow sound and is remarkably comfortable to play! Epiphone is a leader in Archtop guitars and has been since the 1930's. An early pioneer in archtops even before they were electrified, Epiphone was never afraid to do something out of the ordinary.  With no notable changes in Archtop design by anybody in decades, Epiphone took the Archtop and practically married it with a solid body guitar.

The Wildkat's innovative design starts with a solid piece of warm, sustain-rich Mahogany that is computer-routed to create an acoustic guitar-like body except  while leaving the “center block” area. The body is then covered with a beautiful laminated flame-maple top to create a semi-hollow body masterpiece. The Wildkat’s Mahogany body is matched with a hand-fitted, glued-in solid maple neck for maximum tone and sustain. It features a Rosewood fingerboard and an authentic Chrome B70 licensed Bigsby vibrato for even more sonic versatility. The vintage voice of this ‘Kat comes from a pair of Epiphone "dog ear" P- 90 Classic pickups specifically designed by Epiphone. Other appointments include the historic metal Epiphone name “badge” on the headstock as well as a unique control configuration of 1-bridge volume, 1-neck volume, 1-master tone and 1-master volume. These controls are powered by Epiphone’s full-size 1” 500K potentiometers and matched with Epiphone’s superior all-metal toggle switch and heavy-duty output jack. The Wildkat also features premium 16:1 Grover machine heads for superior tuning stability. All of this great design comes together with fabulous vintage semi-hollow tone and great sustain plus, being slight larger than a Les Paul and smaller than a 335 size it's lightweight and really comfortable to play! Case not included.

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Electric Guitar:

I bought this axe(Epiphone Wildkat) about 4 months ago and really loved the sound of the p-90's. For being the cheepest axe I own, everyone said that it was the best sounding. Even when unpluged it had a great sound. But then, the 4th fret on the high E string started buzzing and sounding bad. The buzzing got worse and worse. Now, that note is just dead. Nothing plays from it. Now the 5th fret is doing the same thing. The frets above and below sound great but the 4th and 5th are just dead. No sound comes out at all, just a twank twank is all I get. I bought the warranty and will take it in to see if it can be fixed. This guitar starts out great but goes away quickly. The p-90's are great though. Dark, Fat and Soulful. If only I can get it to play well again. If not, I will look into trading up to a higher quality guitar with the same P-90's.

A very good guitar player recommended I try this guitar and I immediately knew that it was for me. The easy of playing up and down the fret board, the incredible rich sound and the overall goods looks for the price has easily become one of my favorite instruments.

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Electric Guitar:

went to buy my son a jackson V, but was shown this guitar and could not let it go. so i'll probably let my son go get his own. Who knows maybe once he plays it he'll fall in love with it. I play it more now and hardly ever take my les paul out if it's case.
