Dave's solid Sitkta Spruce top signature model with Epiphone's eSonic preamp system.

With his six-string skills best described as a merger between heavy metal, psychedelia, and modern rock, Dave Navarro became one of alternative rock's first true guitar heroes. From his ground-breaking work with "Jane’s Addiction" and "Red Hot Chili Peppers" to his guest appearances on landmark recordings such as Nine Inch Nails' "Further Down the Spiral" and Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill," Dave Navarro was one of the first rock guitarists not to confine his playing to just one style. Now, Dave teams up with Epiphone to create a versatile acoustic/electric guitar with exceptional stage sound, playability and solid-wood tone combined with a bold visual statement that is as unique as the man himself.

It Starts with Solid-Wood:
Epiphone is famous for making great sounding and affordable solid-wood acoustic guitars and Dave Navarro's new signature model is no exception. It starts with a solid Sitka Spruce top, hand-scalloped bracing, Mahogany kerfing and a solid Mahogany back. Hand-fitted to the elegant Venetian cut-away body using a traditional dove-tail neck joint and hide glue is a Mahogany neck with a 25.5" scale length solid Ebony fingerboard. The result is a dreadnought guitar with naturally deep, rich bass, clear mid-tones and punchy highs capable of cutting through - even unplugged.

Made to Perform:
But if you're looking for a guitar that comes alive with real acoustic tone when plugged in, the Dave Navarro "Jane" is just the one for you. Epiphone's eSonic preamp system with the revolutionary NanoFlex under-saddle pickup gives you the control and sound quality you need when performing live. Designed in cooperation with and made by Shadow of Germany, the eSonic is a small, lightweight preamp powered by two long-lasting Lithium batteries. It features a fast and extremely accurate built-in chromatic tuner that allows you to "mute" the output of the guitar while tuning or while "unplugging" to avoid any loud "pop." Other controls include Master Volume, Treble and Bass EQ, a Dynamics slider that acts as an EQ frequency shifter and a "phase" switch to help eliminate feedback. Under saddle is Shadow's Nanoflex pickup. Not a piezo, the NanoFlex design utilizes 7 highly-sensitive and ultra-responsive layers of sensor material to not only sense the vibrations of the strings but the vibrations of the guitar body as well. This produces results equivalent to a condenser-microphone mixed with an under-saddle pickup. The Nanoflex is the first pickup to incorporate active amplification directly at the pickup. As a result, the signal does not pass through even a single millimeter of the wire and therefore, the signal quality is uncompromised. Combined with its 100% shielding, the Nanoflex is absolutely and completely noise free.

Stunning Looks and Professional Features:
Finished in a high-gloss Ebony color, the body is multi-bound on the top and on the back with contrasting white binding as is the fingerboard and headstock. The sound hole features an inlaid rosette combining both binding and Abalone. As a personalized touch, the multi-layer truss rod cover features "Jane" in white while the very thin clear pickguard features a haunting line drawing. The artwork is printed on the underside of the pickguard to preserve it for years and years to come. Other professional features on the new Navarro acoustic/electric include 16:1 ratio Grover machine heads for stable and accurate tuning, nickel hardware, a solid Rosewood bridge with bone saddle and a slightly wider nut width of 1.725" for easy, precise fingering. Case not included.

Comments about Epiphone Dave Navarro "Jane" Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love the inlays, the cutaway, the tone woods, the action, its resonance, and playability. Its a great guitar in those ways. Its just so poorly constructed.

The first one that I had wouldn't play right, and the electronics wouldn't work. The inlays were poorly done too. The pickup would cut in and out and buzz. Returned it.

Second one was from the warehouse. New in box. Already had scratches on it from someone else playing it though?! It buzzed constantly, so the tech raised to action to an ungodly level, but it kept buzzing and the dead spots didn't go away. Then the fretboard started to separate from the neck. Returned it too.

Waiting on the third try and hoping it goes well this time.

Comments about Epiphone Dave Navarro "Jane" Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar! I'm a professional musician and have played about 10,000 gigs in my day and I can tell you that this is one sweet guitar! As soon as I started playing this guitar I gave away my old Takamine, which had served me well over the years. As soon as I pull it out of the case, people start to gawk at the beauty of the look of this guitar and the uniqueness of it.And it plays great! I had to make a slight adjustment to the neck and now it's perfect. It's very easy to play and the sound gets better every day. It sounds like an old guitar.I have used this guitar on the stage and I'm very happy with the nano-flex pick-up system!Overall, this is a great guitar and I would highly recomend it to anyone who's looking for a high-end guitar at a mid-range price. Great deal!

Comments about Epiphone Dave Navarro "Jane" Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I played this guitar while shopping for an acoustic. I had my eye on this one for a while before I actually tried it. I was disappointed in short terms. I was never fond of epiphone much and found better quality in other brands. I suppose this is a good guitar to hang on wall if you're a fan of Dave Navarro. As a experienced player I would not recommenced this, that's my opinion.
