Squier's Vintage Modified Jazz Bass delivers great traditional Jazz Bass style and performance, with two snappy-sounding Fender-designed pickups and a comfortably slim "C"-shaped maple neck.

The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass takes its cues from iconic instruments of the past and adds a few updated features that will appeal to the demands today’s bassists. This bass retains all the vintage aesthetics and vibe of the original 1962 design, right down to the offset-waist body and tortoise shell colored pickguard. The fingerboard features medium-jumbo frets on a modern 9.5" radius to maximize comfort and playability.

The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass also incorporates high-output Fender-Designed Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups that will satisfy modern players and vintage buffs alike. Chrome Vintage-Style hardware includes a 4-Saddle bridge and open-gear tuners. Case not included.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass:

I bought this as an open box "like new" and it was in very good condition, it required a set up to get it to play excellent, but I don't know of many mass produced guitars that don't. The fit and finish and other hardware on this bass are very good quality; I added brass saddles to the bridge to give it more of a vintage look and put on new strings and this bass sounds great. The pickups are nice and punchy, but I may opt for some Seymour Duncan's eventually. I really think this bass is a keeper, even though it is made in Indonesia, it's really hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars more for a MIM or American version when this bass really holds up to the standards of Fender quality and looks virtually identical. I am fairly new to playing bass, but I am guitar obsessed and only buy quality instruments (I own about 10 guitars and two other basses) and can say without hesitation, if this did not meet my standards it would've been returned and this review would be much more critical. I did notice some light scuffing on the fret board under the G string when I replaced the strings, which was really unusual to see and not sure how it happened, but with the strings on you really cannot see it and since it was such an inexpensive purchase there was no need to return it for such an inconsequential flaw. This Vintage Modified Jazz Bass is worthy of 4.5 stars for sure. If you are a beginner or looking for your first Jazz Bass, you cannot go wrong with this beautiful looking Squire Vintage Modified Jazz Bass.
