Comments about Epiphone Viola Bass Guitar:

From the 27 basses I've owned in the past 30 years, the Epiphone Viola rates with my favorite 3. These were my Alembic Ripper, Rickenbacker 3001 and my current Peavey Rudy Sarzo signature bass. Everything about this bass is great. I play through an Acoustic B600 amp and B810H cabinet. This bass is so light but big on sound! Only thing is no slap/pop but makes up in speed for triplets. Viola was set-up perfect when I received it from SA and was even in tune. Great bass and I recommend it for beginners or experienced players.

Comments about Epiphone Viola Bass Guitar:

Well...I jumped in and went ahead and ordered the Epi Viola Bass from Sam Ash.com along with the hard shell case for it. Came in in fine shape and after tuning her up it was perfect! Intonation was right on. String height perfect and I couldn't have been happier! I've rehearsed and played it at church for the last two Sundays and recorded with it a few days ago. I didn't know if I was gonna be happy with a short scale bass but now there is no question about it. Everyone in the two bands I'm in have been really impressed with the tone of it. It fits right in with my other six basses so it's gonna be around a long time. If anybody wants a good viola bass and doesn't want to fork out a lot of hard earned money, then this one will surely fit the bill. And by the way......the case was designed especially for this bass and it holds it well along with what ever accessories you might throw in with it.

Comments about Epiphone Viola Bass Guitar:

I've played bass for about 10 years and I was just amazed when I plugged this baby into a gallien-krueger at the local Guitar Gallery. It was amazingly easy to play, and the tone was so rediculous that 4 people came over to see what I was playing. I mean, this schweet thing could do nice low tonal ranges (and high twang) yet still keep the notes very distinguishable. I also played the more expensive Hofner bass that was famous for the beatles era but I wasn't as impressed with the action or sound when played through the same amp. Also the pick guard was a bit clumsy. I'm telling you I was so pleased with this bass I bought it the same day and I wasn't even looking to get one! TRY IT. That's all I needed :)
