A classic Fender design has returned in 2013!

Fender has delivered a new version of the original Starcaster guitar as part of its "Modern Player" series. The Starcaster guitar made its initial appearance in the mid-1970’s and was originally intended to be Fender’s entry into the semi-hollowbody guitar world. Decades later, the Starcaster became an underground favorite and now has come full circle to make a triumphant return!  The new Starcaster retains virtually all of its ‘70s mojo with upgrades to the hardware that satisfy vintage guitar buffs and cutting edge guitarists alike.

The Fender Starcaster guitar’s thin semi-hollow offset body has a bound maple top and back, with stylish bound f holes. Its “C”-shaped maple neck has a 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, black-dot inlays and the distinctively curvaceous Starcaster headstock. Other premium features include full-voiced dual Fender Wide Range humbucking pickups with three-way toggle switching, three-ply black pickguard, four skirted “amp”-style control knobs (volume and tone for each pickup) and an Adjusto-Matic™ bridge with anchored tailpiece. Case not included.

Comments about Fender Starcaster Electric Guitar:

Saved up for a year, finally ordered a natural finish Starcaster in December '14. It arrived in a sealed box, and it came with an added feature: a crack in the lower cutaway. The boys at Sam Ash were great; they apologized and immedaitely ordered another. It arrived today, Jan 8 '15, with two cracks; another in the lower cutaway at the neck joint, and an even longer crack in the upper cutaway. Been waiting years for this guitar, and am terribly diappointed in Fender's lack of quality control, and I've been a Fender man for some forty-odd years. Guess I'll stick with my American Standard Strat and Tele Thinline, and look elsewhere for a hollow-body, much to my disappoinyment.
