The Taylor 114e Acoustic Electric Guitar delivers Taylor quality at a working musician’s price!

The Taylor 114e is part of the redesigned 100 series of acoustic guitars. The Taylor 114e Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor's "X" bracing. The Taylor 114e also features their Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 110 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. The back and sides are constructed from layered sapele, which possesses a similar aesthetic and tone as mahogany. As a tonewood, sapele is denser and harder than mahogany, so it has a slightly brighter sound than its more familiar counterpart. Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well.

When it's time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 114e features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 114e is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is great little taylor guitar. Mexican made with American ingenuity. Solid top guitar with great tone and resonance, not too bright and too much low end. And what more can be said about the taylor neck? One of the most comfortable necks out there and great for the intermediate player.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Taylor is a great brand and offers superior build quality. Grand auditorium body helps the guitar sustain tone. Solid Sitka top only adds to the beauty of this guitar. Don't forget this is an electric guitar so having the option to plug this into an amp only makes this guitar more valuable. I'm a Staff reviewer at Sam Ash Music.

Comments about Taylor 114e Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Taylor has knocked it out of the park with this great affordable acoustic guitar! It plays great like all Taylor guitars and has a crisp tone that really cuts through the mix! The pickup sounds really nice through any acoustic amp. The gig bag is very sturdy and protects the guitar very well.
