The Epiphone Dot Studio, A New Twist on the Classic Rock and Roll Machine

The Epiphone Dot, Epiphone's version of the venerable ES-335 "Dot", has been wowing guitar players all over the world for a decade. Vintage models (with vintage problems) can’t complete with our Epiphone Dot, which is simply one of the best deals today for guitar players who want the classic sound of an ES-335 at an affordable price. Now the Epiphone Dot Studio gives players the exact same sound and quality in a stripped down studio model made of mahogany.

The Epiphone Dot Studio features a maple neck and body, retaining much of the style of the 1958 classic. The gloss finish gives this guitar an elegant look reminiscent of the original iconic ES-335. Featuring 2 Alnico Classic pickups with a hotter bridge pickup, and simplified tone circuitry, the Epiphone Dot Studio can produce a wide range of tones that will adapt to any musical style. From clean, rich tones echoing blues and jazz greats to overdriven rock & roll roar with sustain to spare! The chrome hardware is rounded out by the classic vintage style Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. The Epiphone Dot Studio is ready for any gig, anywhere. Case not included.

Comments about Epiphone Dot Studio Electric Guitar:

I have been playing off and on for over 40 years. I have owned some high dollar guitars during those times. Gretsch...Guild..and a couple of Fenders thrown in for good measure. This guitar plays as well as any I have owned. At one time I made a living playing, but that was a long time ago. I don't have the touch I had, but was surprised at how smooth this machine really is. I'm an old style country picker, so don't have any idea about all the new sounds and styles, but for us old men...great guitar. Lot of guitar for the money. I have been beating on an old flat top for the last 10 years or so, and wanted something easier to play without spending a ton. THIS IS THE ONE!!! Dollar for Dollar I don't believe you can find a nicer guitar. Finish and fit was perfect.

Comments about Epiphone Dot Studio Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar a few years back, and it quickly became my "go-to" guitar for just about everything. The quality of construction for a guitar in this price range is peerless. I bought mine when the "Worn Brown Satin" finish was available, and that's what I purchased, so I can't speak to the quality of the newer gloss finish. But, I found NO imperfections in my fit/finish, and the factory set-up was near perfect. I found no buzzing and the action is quick and low. The lack of fret markers on the fretboard was a bit of concern before I purchased it, but the fret markers on the side of the neck are more than enough for anyone but the most timid of beginners. The tones you can pull out of this guitar are near limitless.. you can go from clean sparkle to dirty snarl with room in between for nearly every style. The depth of tone on a clean channel still makes my jaw drop. I can't say enough about this beautiful powerhouse... This guitar could EASILY sell for twice it's price and I would pay it in a second. If you've been looking for a semi-hollow body and are on a budget, your look stops here... an INCREDIBLE guitar at an unheard of price.

Comments about Epiphone Dot Studio Electric Guitar:

I bought one of these from Sam Ash recently and immediately loved the way it handled and sounded. Top quality workmanship, excellent tone, powerful HB pickups. Excellent gloss finish, chrome hardware, very nice fingerboard and frets. Fantastic value in the price range. Just for kicks I dropped in a pair of Gibson '57 classic humbucker p/ups in mine and these made a great guitar a fantastic guitar. I use it for both Lead and Rhythm in a variety of music styles and it excells; versatile and well-suited in all genres. Very excellent for rock and jazz too. It will feedback some at high volume settings, and if that's what you want "ala 70's psychedelic", you can certainly get it! Otherwise keep some distance from the amp! Its only minor drawback is not having separate tone and volume controls for each pickup, but that's not a great matter considering many topflight guitars (i.e. Telecaster) are configured the same way. This guitar very closely approaches the far more expensive Gibson ES-335 in every way. A must for the serious musician who isn't loaded with cash!
