The Taylor 114ce Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar delivers Taylor quality at a working musician's price!

The Taylor 114ce is part of the redesigned 100 series of acoustic guitars. The Taylor 114ce Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s "X" bracing. The Taylor 114ce also features their Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 110 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. While the bigger Dreadnought was traditionally considered a flatpicker’s guitar and the smaller Grand Concert catered to fingerstylists, the Grand Auditorium was designed to deliver on both fronts. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the multi-dimensional Grand Auditorium won't let you down.

The Taylor 114ce Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor's "X" bracing. Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well. The back and sides are crafted from layered sapele which presents a beautiful aesthetic in a durable, affordable package.

The cutaway body design of the Taylor 114ce allows you to access the upper register notes for when you're reaching for a little extra in your soloing. You will love the ease and playability of the fast, thin profile of the sapele neck and 20 fret ebony fingerboard.

When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 114ce features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 114ce is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Taylor is well known for making bright, big sounding acoustics. The neck feels great and is easy to play for experts and beginners alike. The preamp sounds great when plugged into an amp and the tone is unmistakably Taylor quality. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to play gigs or events who wants their songs to shine.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

One of the best playing guitars that you can get in this price range. Sounds crisp, clear, rich and full. The neck is comfortable to play and the consistency of playability is incredible. Pick up just about any 114ce out of the box, and it is ready to play. Solid top sounds better and better with playing and with age. Comes with a nice bag too. Great investment for a lower price range Taylor.

This guitar really gives you want you want. The neck has a great feel being satin and the girth is comfortable. The tone is amazing for having laminate back and sides. Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Being mostly an electric guitar player, I love the way Taylor guitars feel. They have a slimmer neck, which makes the transition from acoustic to electric very easy. The cutaway on this guitar also makes that transition easier. I work for Sam Ash Music in Columbus, OH and recommend this guitar to customers regularly because I know I can stand behind Taylor as a company. They build great instruments.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Taylor has always been one of the best acoustic guitar companies out there with each of its lines having somethig unique about it. The 114CE is a great for anyone looking for a quality guitar without breaking the bank. Solid Sitka top with Sapele back and sides. The best feature of the guitar is that it also has electronics so you can plug it into any amp or PA if you were to go out and play shows. You also have the added cutaway at the top of the guitar for those who also plan on playing on the higher frets of the guitar.

The 114ce offers great features at an affordable price. They are setup great straight from the factory and have low, easy to play action. The grand auditorium body style is versatile for any style of playing and the cutaway makes it easier to access the higher frets. Taylor's electronics sound great and are easy to control. This is a great guitar for anyone looking for an affordable instrument for gigging, practice, songwriting or recording.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The new bracing in this series made ALL the difference! I love the tone of a Taylor, but had resigned myself to playing the more expensive ones, now I don't have to! With all the same playability as the big brothers, this guitar can hold its own! Now, the tone is just as rich and punchy as its more expensive counterparts.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Amazing guitar! 6 years after buying it and I'm still blown away with how it sounds. Very loud guitar, bright sound but produces a solid bass. Many people who own higher Taylor models like the 714 tell me that they can hardly tell the difference in sound between mine and theirs. It also feels great to play, although it may need some neck adjustment/setup out of the box to improve the action, but that's pretty normal.

I also love the matte finish on this guitar, and I prefer it over the lacquered, shiny finish of the pricier ones. Even the slightly rough, matte finish of the neck feels perfect
